I read somewhere that it should be 10000$ for principal applicant and 2000$ additional for each dependent. that will be around 14000$

Thats why confused.

I presume they are the same. Just take the information from this link as it is official. Besides, they change this requirement every year as mentioned on the website.

I am May 7th applicant noc 1112, PER received on 7th august 2014. ECAS second line update is we started processing your application on 9th sep 2014. Still no MR request. June applicants are getting MR request. Can any one throw some light on this whether i ll be able to make it or not. its a long long wait..

DD encahsed: 15 July 2014

1st line - in process: 25 July 2014

PER Mail: 13 August 2014 (got to know about DD date)

2nd line - Process started: 9 Oct 2014

MR, RPRF, PCC recieved: 14 Oct 2014

PCC applied on: 16/10/2014
PCC recieved on: 4/11/2014

MR applied on: 19/10/2014
Remedical: 29/10/2014 (only for husband, asked by doctor only, no involvment of CIC)

RPRF DD date: 6/11/2014

NDVO send date: 7/11/2014
NDVO recieved: 10/11/2014

3rd line - medical recieved: 10/11/2014

We have to declare while flying if we carry more then $10000 as per CIC website..
Its a early question(still waiting for MR ) how we can carry that amount but may be later we will discuss about mode of money ...

but is it ok to prove the funds in another way than brining cash with you , its a huge amount of money to hold around , especially you will need a couple of days until you reach a bank and put in your account ?

You just have to inform it to immigration authority about the amount. That's all.
