My husband needs to get reference letter from company that has closed. He is still in contact with owner of restaurant (person that hired him). This reference letter won't have letterhead, what is the best way to make this letter, does anybody have an example? Does it need to be notarized? Original or copy? We need letter to gain more points for experience.

I hope some seniors respond to you, because I don't have experience with this. I think that even if the restaurant was closed, a letter from the owner would be sufficient. Please have the owner claim that he was also your husbands supervisor. Getting it notarized would be a plus. Generally work reference letter's are copies, so I would send that. Ensure you have all the details i.e. detailed job description, hours he worked, and how much he got paid.

In my case my company got brought out by another company. Fortunately, my old boss was with the new company. I got a letter from him. Made a copy of that letter and sent it. No notarization. I got PER and MR. Best of luck.

You are an asset for this forum. Don't let the -1s bother you. Some members are not satisfied by truthful answers and resort to -1s, not realising that we are trying to only help them. I keep getting -1s for blunt and honest answers as well.

Dear seniors please tell me what is experience verification by cic? do they do something like that in time of interview or any other time? if yes I can get prepared coz I m taking courses to change my carrier ,will I get into troubles ?my work experiences are related to 2281 ...but im afraid if 2281 reaches its cap till end of October

these are my work experience ...still i doubt under which NOC should I apply ?

2006.07 -2007.09 ....2172 part time ( no insurance) (coz I was student also) ....14 months 24hrs/week
20017.10-2011.11 .....2182 full time (with insurance benefits) ...........................4 years
2012.03-2014.03 ...... 2182 full time (with insurance benefits) ..................................2 years
2014.03- present ........2172 full time (with insurance benefits) ...................................6.5 months

2281 cap =242
2172 cap=73

Guide me with your replies ...If i choose 2281 ...I have to say I wanna continue 2172 as its the recent job or what ?
if I choose 2172 ...is my work experiences enough to apply under this NOC?
I am overwhelmed I really appreciate your assistance

No, settlement funds are funds you can access to support yourself after moving to Canada.

Ecas Updated is a good sign ...... keep your figures crossed.... good luck

In process means you should have got a PER, PER and ECAS happen at the same time.

Check your mail box clearly or see if you have any spelling error while giving ur mail-id in application

I am so sad my application refused on base of points I get total 62 points. after waiting for so many years and done with all requirements such as medical, i was asked to RPRF by visa office interview also waive why this happed to case. can they just add 5 more points. I score only 4 points in language is that any way I submit another IELTS with request. what should I do is any chances for reassessment of my case. please advice me with best of your knowledge. thanks to all.

I received AOR from HK visa office mid of Aug. Now nearly 2 months passed, no news, no updates from visa office. Is it normal? Any one have the similar situation?

I am in the same boat. AOR early to mid August, not a word since then. Look at the spreadsheet and click on the "apps by VO" tab. HKVO has been sitting on 2 MRs/1 PPR for a loooooong time. Everyone else is stuck at File Transfer stage or earlier.

I tried to ask Minister Alexander during the Twitter Q&A but he didn't answer. ;D

Hey fellow Forumites,

Congratulations to everybody who got their CC/DD charges, PERs, MR and PPR recently – especially those of NOC 2174 whose hope had been shattered.

I would like to share a sad story with you: I am applying with a lawyer from Toronto, and my application got ready to go Thursday October 9th .

My lawyer called a courier – Purolator – to pick up my application and take it to the CIO. The estimated date of delivery was Tuesday the 14th. I was following up Purolator's tracking every 5 minutes, and saw that since Friday no line was added after the pickup.

So Tuesday morning I called Purolator to ask where my parcel was.... And they haven't found it since! My application, with all my certified copies, original IELTS, original WES was lost!

Purolator claims the address label fell off... Officially, they are still searching, but after 3 full days I've lost hope.

I'm not really sure whose fault it was (Lawyer or Purolator), but I'm really pissed off. I have to start from scratch again...

Thank god my NOC (0013) is cool so I'll probably have time to apply in the two weeks is going to take me to get everything ready again.

Really sad for you..You should pull up the courier and the lawyer for negligent service.

Anyways, good that your NOC is stone cold, so you have time to rebuild your case. All the best !!
