Hi guys,

What documents as the wife of main applicant do we have to attach to application. I took the IELTS exam so I guess I would I have to include original report to claim 5 points, original PCC. Do I have to attach reference letters or any other documents?

One of the companies my husband worked at has been closed for awhile now, CIC wont be able to contact anybody there, what can he do? Do we write a cover letter explaining situation with mobile number of former owner of company?

CIC asks for las 10 years of employment, does he have to get reference letters from thos jobs in last 10 years or only the ones that have to do with his NOC (4011).

He is a culinary arts professor at university, do yo think its best to get not only the reference letters for university for the noc 4011 but also reference letters form the restaurants were he has been a chef and gotten his culinary arts experience from?

Thanks in advance
You need to read the document checklist carefully so you will know what the spouse must provide.

You can get points for any employment in the past 10 years at skill type 0 or skill level A or B, so get all the reference letters you can.

If reference letters are unavailable, for example from a closed company, get a personal letter from a supervisor or colleague who knew your duties. Only job duty descriptions from someone other than yourself (and who actually knew your duties) will be acceptable for points.

I am in a bitter situation than you. Its been 2 weeks I have sent my application. it is with USPS. They have updated status as ready for pick up. I hope it gets picked up by FBI soon. :) Being optimistic.

Hi,
Can you please confirm following points regarding rejection.
1) When and how did you came to know about your rejection.
2) Does CIC intimate u with an email regarding the reason before your documents reaches you. Approximately how many days will it take to reach your documents back.
3) Do u now have ur UCI number to track ur future application.

Your answers would be of great help if in case my application would be rejected.
I am a 4 June applicant with Noc 1111, but no news for did charged yet. Loosing hope now.

Regards,
Khalsa1

Let's hope for the best. When is your deadline? They're upgrading systems and saying 12 weeks for processing.

As I already wrote, today is our lucky day and we got PER and now I want to write our biggest doubt in our application: I wasn't allowed to ask in my company reference letter( that would get me in serious trouble in my workplace) so I asked one colleague and one former collegaue to write reference letter and I attached their business cards.
at the end everything went great and we got PER :) So I hope this post will help someone
I wish you all the best
congrats

6 6 5 6 Wont get you 23 points. You need to reappear for Ielts. Min requirement is 6 in all modules.. Which will fetch you 16 points which is the least score..
I dont think my friend has to re-appear for this. My understanding is - Min requirement is to score 6 mark in all modules.

His score is below:

Listening - 8
Reading - 7
Speaking - 6.5
Writing - 6

And corresponding points are 6 6 5 4 = 21 points. So i think he is eligible. Please let me know your thoughts.

Informative share, thanks & +1!

So property evaluation in the name of applicant is indeed considered as POF, rather than as an asset. I declared my property as an asset. Should be helpful when showing the POF when landing.

I am posting the email i received from NDVO with this aspect. Please consider this information with a pinch of salt, coz i have not seen a case so far, who have received PER after showing property as the main source for settlement funds.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

The amount of funds you need to have in order to settle in Canada depends on the size of your family. The funds must be available to you and transferable to Canada. They must be unencumbered by debts or other obligations.

Number of family members
Funds required
1
$11,115
2
$13,837
3
$17,011
4
$20,654
5
$23,425
6
$26,419
7 or more
$29,414

Note: In terms of funds required, the number of the applicant's family members includes both accompanying and non-accompanying dependants.

Acceptable proof of funds are:
-bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable fixed deposits in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-property valuations of property which is unencumbered by debt in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Not acceptable are:
-bank accounts in someone else's name;
-bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);
-bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada;
-vehicle valuations;
-jewellery valuations.

You are not required to carry your funds in cash when you arrive in Canada. You are, however, required to show documentary evidence that you have the funds available (in bank accounts or cashable investments), and that they can be transferred to Canada.

A port of entry officer in Canada may seek to confirm these funds before granting you permanent residence along with your dependants.

If you have arranged employment in Canada, you do not have to meet these financial requirements. Arranged employment means that you have an offer of indeterminate employment from an employer in Canada. You must be either currently working in that employment on a work permit in Canada, or have been issued a labour market opinion has must have been provided by the Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). In order to be exempt from the minimum funds requirement, the offer of employment must be genuine, the employment must not part-time or seasonal, the wages offered must be consistent with the prevailing wage rate for the occupation, and the working conditions must meet generally accepted Canadian standards.

October 2016, InshaAllah
in total number of years of education I mentioned 10+2+4+0 (form 5669->7.Education). many people have many ways to mention this education section. I did it as I have received my first certificate after 10 years of study which is S.S.C and then after 2 years H.S.C and then Hons. But some mentioned it like 7+5+4+0. Will it be a problem the way I mentioned? Please clarify.
