I am filling application form for NOC 2173 ( Software Engineer).

I have one question that what is the significance of city (Canada) we choose in form.

And any suggestion that which city should I choose?
I am not much aware about the cities of Canada.

Please help!!

Choose any city other than that in Quebec. You can actually land in a different city later if you wish to.

I have a question. This forum is fantastic. I have been silent reader of this forum for months.
Although have a question now: I submitted my application on June 24 and yesterday I received my application back due to the missing birth certificate. (thats it)
However, in my initial application I included the bonafide certificate, secondary school certificate indicating my date of birth.

However I managed to find the copy of my birth certificate and school leaving certificate. I resend my application today. Hopefully they will consider this.
I checked all my application forms, there was a UCI number noted in my application.
I am an NOC 2171 category. Will I be considered back to the June applicants or I will be considered again from the date my application will reach cic this coming friday?

Please help!!!

You'll be considered from the date your application reaches again.

Did you check all the forms to make sure none have been updated since you sent your initial application?

Ideally, you would also have updated all forms to include information up to the day you sent your new application. But you may still be ok.

Thanks to all and Diplomatru, CanOl, spicysank, ashif_eee. I appreciate you guys for reply to my queries!] I am 26th may app. & was worried since my consultant forgot to put communication mail id in application. It took 11 days to reach my address

You should have submitted self declared affidavit along with your school certificate. For 2171 its bit late and try to send new app for 2172 if possible.

thanks i will try to send for 2172.
However, can i submit the same forms and just replace the form for the NOC category to 2172?
They have some notes and writing in pencil in my original application.... is it better to send my original application?

5125 no problem, it will not be capped even on April 30, 2015. You just have to wait longer. Good luck!

All those whose application was rejected and have mentioned email of the reject reason in the spreadsheet , did CIC reply to your enquiry about the app status or you received reject email from CIC itself ?

Application received on 19th June rejected but mine of 4th June no update neither reject

Rejection usually comes from an Email - on CIC website just says "decisions made"

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their comments here. I have been visiting this platform for sometime now and have learned many new things from the responses and the people. I would like to say thank you to everyone who contributes to the discussion and provides their valuable time.

I have a question and here is some background information:

1. Applied under the skilled category under NOC 1123 which is relatively less busy and has only 83 people currently with applications in as per the CIC website.
2. I applied on July 12th and my application was recd on July 14

Question:
1. When I applied, I applied the application for myself and my spouse. I was the primary applicant. During the last few months there have been some complications and it is likely that my spouse will not be accompanying me to Canada and we will most likely be separated. We are not separated now but there is a very high chance that we will. Assuming I do separate after I get my PER - what should be my next steps. I will obviously inform the application but does anyone know:

A. What documents I would need to show separation?
B. How will my application be impacted? Will they reject my application due to the change?
C. I did not submit my PCC with the original application so when the PCC request comes in will they ask for both me and my spouse? Since I will not be able to obtain one for my spouse as indicated above.
C. Any other help or insight

Again, I really appreciate your help in advance and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and reply.

You don't have to pay an application fee or visa fee for non-accompanying spouses and children. But if you decide to sponsor them later, you will need to pay an application fee for that application and eventually a visa fee. I don't know how much those fees are.

Also, even for non-accompanying spouses, you must provide full information, including PCCs and birth certificate and etc. I am assuming that to sponsor them later on one would have to send roughly the same information, but it would need to be updated, and so you'd have to pay to obtain PCCs and etc. again. So if the goal is saving money I don't think in the long run it saves money for dependants not to accompany the principal applicant. There should be a good reason for them not to accompany. But everyone is free to do as they like...

Thank you for your clarification. Sorry was not allowed to +1. I am very clear on the rest of aspects about documents and stuff, but didnt understand the fee payment bit what you were suggesting.

There could be many reasons:
1. Both wife and husband working and both dont need not leave jobs and sit idle in a foreign country. It makes better sense for one person to go and establish and the other person supports.
2. Could be taking care of old parents, etc.

Some of the reasons i know. Not always saving money.

From what I understand that June applications are scrutinized before they are sent back to the applications for any missing docs. This process would have taken few days back. It is very unfortunate to hear from the people that their applications are returned back. Nevertheless there is time left to send the application back for a different NOC if JD is matching.
