It only meant NDVO has started processing your application.

Hopefully they will issue MR soon to you.

Guys,

I got my per on august 15th, this morning when I checked online 2nd line was not updated.

When I went back to check now the second line is updated saying: "we started processing your application on sept 17th 2014.

What does this mean, did they already MR or are they going to issue it soon, as i vent got any email from NDVO as yet.

Do this also mean NDVO is working on Saturday in the back end.

I'm a 9th May applicant. I'm there in the sheet under Chandu.

Your insight to this would be much appreciateted

Thank you,
Konakalla.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en&_ga=1.30942271.1826010537.1403017221

Though its silly question but stillwanted to ask...... over the above link it says enter the birth date in dd/mm/yyyy format but the text box accepts only mm/dd/yyyy format. Is thats the way it is?

I am 2nd June applicant .
Payment mode : DD
I checked with bank my DD is not yet charged :(

How much time does it take for DD clearance or encashment ???
DD encashment takes around 2-12 days..The best way to know when your DD is charged is PER email.. You shouldn't worry about knowing it from your bank, as usually banks are not able to tell the exact DD en'cashment date.. So relax and wait your your PER.. ;D ;D

Yes that the one. It must be your browser thats creating problem with date format.

Here's the list of median family income per year for various cities in Canada. You can make your own analysis based on that.

http://www.statcan.gc.ca/tables-tableaux/sum-som/l01/cst01/famil107a-eng.htm

For a single parent (is probably closer to what a single person would be making for a middle class standard):
http://www.statcan.gc.ca/tables-tableaux/sum-som/l01/cst01/famil107c-eng.htm

Everybody's measure for what a middle class living standard is will be different. But assuming you are asking what an average middle class expense would be for a year, it would be closer to the median income in the list above (which is about 70,000 CAD for a year). But since newly immigrated individuals will probably spend less than average without a job, the bare minimum (for apartment, food, transportation etc) would be closer to the 2,000 CAD per month for a couple/family. For a single person, if you are willing to share apartment or even bedroom with other people, cheaper arrangements are possible.

CIC's POF is in fact designed to sustain people for only about 3/4 months without job.

thanks mate. +1

Ok you mean that to live a middle class life in canada you ve to be earning 70000 canadian dollars thats too much as most of whom i asked said that for a family of four persons 4000 per month is enough that mean 40 ×12 = 48 only
70 is such too much ...can i ve more information on this plz

That's why it's really important to learn something about Canada before wasting time and energy to apply for immigration. Imagine this guy's surprise when he comes to Torronto and gets to know that a TTC weekly pass is 40CAD. A new arrived immigrant will need three months or even more to get his first job, so the POF required by CIC is no joke, especially if you bring family. 10000CAD will run out in no time. Be ready for it. I hate to ruin people's dreams but there is no Steven Harper waiting for you upon landing with a cheque for million loomies to praise the person who went through FSWP. They only allow you to have legal status in Canada, other than that - you are on your own. No job, no flat, no car, no CC, no DL, no medical insurance for first 6 months. 2000CAD a year for a family of three, jeez.
Plus one

Thanks Goku!!
+1 for you :)

One of my friend went there on PR in May, he said that 500-700 CAD $ is enough for food for family of 4.
Even main expense is of House / Rent.
Rest all other stuff is not expensive.
So moamana82 is right, 3500-4000 CAD $ per month is more then enough for a normal average life for a middle class family .

Just a thought, $70,000/yr is it before taxes or after?
In order to have ~4000/month in hand means you should have a package of $70k-$72k/year

In my opinion $4000/month(in hand) for a family of 4 is not sufficient. you will be on the edge.
