Don't activate the new card. Call the credit card company and explain the situation and try to have the old one active for until CIC charges you.

Tried that, CC company said its their liablity if there is fraud on our card, so they will not let the old card active.

PER PER PER PER PER

:D Received my PER today!!!

May 22nd applicant, NOC 2174. SS updated.

I'm using the services of Campbell Cohen as consultants, and made my payment through them. I believed they enclosed a DD with the application, but my PER acknowledges a credit card payment, so I changed this information accordingly. I do not know when the CC was charged, though.

Good luck to all the members, and may we all meet for a beer in Canada!

Now onto another waiting game...

Congrats dear :)

If you have UCI, send the revised payment form. If you are lucky, it will get added. Also give a cover letter.

Better, if you can convince your bank to revert your old CC.

this is my first application, so dont have UCI
I can send a new form, with a draft this time probably!
My bad, I thought, credit card was better, as it wont expire some time soon.

I know before you had to specify when applying whether you wanted single or multiple entry for visitors visa. Since recently, they only giving multiple entry. Seems like they've cut out the single entry ones.

Thanks for the update obryan20 +1 :). Two years back there was a rumour that they are going to start giving multiple entry 10 year visa, just like the US B1/B2 visa. Any idea, if 10 year period is implemented now? I had got 2 year multiple entry then.

Seniors Please advise,

I need one advise for my friend. I already applied and the info is updated on SS.

One of my friend did his WES, but they didn't recognized his Bachelors degree in IT from Sikkim Manipal University. He has MBA from University of Wales as well. Currently he is living in London, UK. So my question is

1] Will it be alright to evaluate his MBA degree only from WES ? Do WES require his bachelors degree certificate as well for MBA evaluation ?

2] He called Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, and they confirmed in email that they recognize Sikkim Manipal University. But the concern is they want all certificates directly from university. For WES, he requested sealed transcripts from SMU and along with his secondary certificates from different board. Do anyone has experience of ECA from University of Toronto ? OR ICAS ?

Hey Guys,

Is there an update or pattern on Medical Request is issued for VO CPC-Ottawa ??

There are few applicants with 8/8, 8/11, 8/12, 8/13 PERs who have got the Meds Request in the last 2-3days.

My PER date:: Aug 8
Appln date :: May 7

Thanks in Advance.
Though my mind knows that this is a wait game, it is sometimes needs some logic and reasons to wait.

Fingers Crossed,
Karthick.

WES requires bachelors degree to evaluate masters check their website for requirements it depends on country of study

Im not sure about other education agencies but WES is prefered among FSW applicants

Yes you may send another form. There has also been cases where CiC will call for correct payment details when they are unable to effect the charge. You need to follow fee encashment on the forum very closely to know when you can expect this call. Good luck buddie

I filed my application on 29th Aug, and I gave credit card details for payment.
and unfortunately, the Credit card company has issued me a new credit card, for some apparently nation wide fraud prevention.

Anyone has any ideas, what should I do.
I will appreciate your help. I am worried since my category is 2173!!

why is that they are still in PER state ?

Exactly !!
So in fact CC will be a problem as you do not have a control at what exchange rate your fees are going to be debited.
In DD, this is upfront and you know the exchange rate.

Yes correct

manish baissoya said:
Yes CanOl, you are right that CC is not safe then DD.
But there many Benefits to pay with CC then DD.

Advantages:
1) Once payment get charge, it will be reflect in email and message immediately.
2) Amount will only be deducted only when payment charged, not have to spend cash in advance.
3) No DD making charges.
3) No Tension of Validity like in DD and No tension of fluctuating Dollar value.

Disadvantage:
1) Always take care of CC until it get charged, if lost or damage then it will be a problem.
2) If CC will not work at the time of charging (very rare chances if given details are correct).

So benefits are more then disadvantages if you take care of your CC till payment get charged.

+1

It depends on each persons usage habits and the association the person has had with a particular bank. If you are an old customer then you have trust with the banking institution and the way it works. Risk, after all is present in DD as well, as rightly pointed by Manish. I do agree with those who say the card should be literally in a locker until CIC charges you (lest the file is incomplete!).

If a person uses his/her CC card at the drop of a hat, then yes. It wouldn't be advisable to use it as a payment method since the credit limit may be exceeded due to over indulgence.

Edit: looking at anuragchigs case, it makes me look foolish :-X
