For those who are at the advanced stage of paying RPRF....

Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

Applicants for permanent residence can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested. The processing fee is still required when submitting an application.

it seems that many of the visa offices are not issuing AOR this year. many of the applicants who got medical requested haven't received AOR this year in spreadsheet. I think there is some change going on at cio as well as at visa offices. applicants were directly requested for medicals. and this time the process is quiet speedy. I hope applicants can get visa stamped from between 9 months to 12 months time this year.

If you are from one of the visa-exempt countries, no more placing a visa counterfoil in your passport.

hi,
I wanted to know if, I need to submit my high school (10th), higher secondary (12th) marksheets along with my package.
I have done masters in CS, and BE in Electronics, and I have ECA report to get canadian equivalent.
the problem is, they are in Hindi, and to get translated would waste another 3 days or more.

Correct, if approved, they simply send you the COPR in the post. I see you are Japanese, so this applies to you, too. There are about 60 countries and territories whose citizens do not need a visa to visit or transit Canada (visa exemptions).

Oh, thanks. Getting that label on the passport is an exciting moment. I will miss it.

Another major advantage is after you land, if you want to leave Canada without having received your PR card yet, you can come back easily as a visitor since there won't be a visa sticker/counterfoil in your passport. Technically, once outside Canada (unless you are coming back in a private vehicle across the US border), you need to apply for a Travel Document (if you are not in possession of your PR card), but most don't. Again, it saves the hassle (and cost) of applying for a Travel Document.

I also got my PER finally ;D ;D. The PER date is 7th August :-X. Got lost in the PER maze at my consultant, I think . Nonetheless, it has emerged now to my much relief :-* :-*.
