1. You don't need proof. But, you didn't even get a receipt? I would always get a receipt for a sale like that.

2. You don't have to keep it in FD after visa (or even before), but you may need to show updated proof of funds upon landing so don't spend it all after getting the visa, you need to continue to have those funds on hand.

I agree with you that this e-mail should not lead us to believe that a 51% match is sufficient. But I disagree that it must be at leats an 80% match. We have no basis for knowing the number, or even whether there is a hard number.

#1. Provide as much info as you can and explain in an annexure that you need time to obtain the rest. No problem. You are right that you have to pay a fee and show POF for the baby too.

1. It's true the spouse doesn't need a separate travel form but you do need to fill in the space in the travel form for your spouse the same as for yourself. Careful!

I have submitted the fixed deposits and provident fund balance as proof of funds.

I wanted to use a part of the money for some real estate transactions. Can I use some money, as long as the balance is not below the minimum amount required by CIC.

Please advice.

Ask the manager who is now in another company to give you a reference letter on no letterhead at all, not his current company's letterhead. Other than that you are on the right track.

I've printed off the spec and diagram from the CIC website which states the head measurement should be between 25mm and 30mm, yet under the guideline section it states a minimum head measurement of 31mm and max 36mm?

Does anyone know which one is correct?

I suggest that you try to get a personal (non-letterhead) reference from your manager or someone else who knows your duties, before resulting to self-attestation. CIC has stated that self-attestation is not acceptable.

Help needed....do they really want to verify the same FD advice as was submitted? Or it's ok as long as I have enough funds in PF account that is needed for POF.

so are you saying that i should get the same letter printed on a plain paper and signed by my ex-manager with his phone number/email etc? if yes, then how are CIC going to trust it as a reputed source of confirmation of my previous job?
