Yes it is not mandatory . Your application won't get rejected.

PS : Be prepared to provide the statements at a later stage to VO, and make sure the required funds are maintained in your account for a considerable amount of time.

Hello!
I sent my application on MOnday July 14 via DHL. Unfortunately I get no update about my application. It says Wednesday forwarded for delivery from Ontario. Nothing Thursday or today.
Anybody know what that means???
I checked DHL.com and entered my number

Just relax....
it may take time...but it will be delivered by the third part services.

Thanks Ashif...but instead of bank statement, what can I submit with the application..

Its called bank certificate.
it will have your full name details....account details....amount in account as of when printed saying you are the owner.
It will not have histories like statement of account.
Your bank manager or any officer responsible for the letter will sign,stamp and endorse it.

WITHOUT THE FUNDS YOU STAND DISQUALIFIED, SO SEEN A PROOF TO THEM, BANK STATEMENT OR CERTIFICATION LETTER, OR DEPOSIT CERTIFICATE.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada will accept secondary, matriculation, or school leaving certificates as proof of birth. This is provided they have the following: your full name, your date of birth, and the name of your mother, father, or both.

Guys,

I have seen many discussions on Proof of fund and that the local VO may ask for a 6 month bank statement. If one has shown only a FD statement as POF (which is not linked to any savings/current account in that bank) at the time of application and has several bank accounts (none of which is shown in the application and one of these accounts is a salary account) then will the local VO still ask for 6 month bank statement? If yes, which account(s) - Salary account?
