Yes you will get points for full Experience. But the below statement is a bit tricky,

"You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed. If you do not show that your experience meets the description in the NOC, we will refuse your application."


Points for work experience – Federal skilled workers
(Maximum 15 points)
You can get points for the number of years you have spent in full-time paid work (at least 30 hours per week, or an equal amount of part-time).

National Occupational Classification (NOC)
The NOC is a system used to classify jobs in the Canadian economy. It describes duties, skills, talents and work settings for different jobs. CIC uses the 2011 edition of the NOC to assess skilled worker applications.

Finding your NOC category
The easiest way to find your category is to

go to the National Occupational Classification website,
scroll to the bottom of the page,
in the Quick Search box on the left-hand side, put the name of your occupation, and
press “go.”
This will give you some options. Check if any of them seem to be the right occupation. If this does not work:

press the “back” button,
choose the option that sounds most like your field, and
see if any of the occupations on the list match your occupation.
If the description and list of main duties match what you did at your last job(s), you can count this experience for points.
Use this chart to find the number of points based on your number of years of experience.

There could be only one and only one Primary NOC.

When said job(s), it means Primary plus secondaries (if applicable). And this secondaries jobs must fall under Skill Level O, A,or B and you can count this experience for points against those experiences.

I am planning to apply for Police Clearance certificae from indian embassy in chicago,Do we need to send them the original passport?

Below are the steps i found in web site.

Dude - Thanks for your reply.. but I see sometimes its bit difficult to knw when the DD has been charged. I mean I see so many people dont knw tthat their DD has been charged and some Banks issue only for 3 months DD. So before I start it up just wanted to double check.

No, there can be more than 1 NOC , this information regarding primary seems incorrect, for example i had 2174 and 2171 since i worked under both

Admins on this group have already done a fabulous job of creating a wonderful thread with loads and loads of useful information and an superb excel sheet(Hatts off to whoever built it. I have been working in IT since 10 years but still never seen a person so good at excel)!!

Can I suggest(just an value add-good to have kinda a feature to the existing excel) to add a new worksheet in the excel which would have references to the important pages numbers of our thread......
for eg: - there are some very valuable posts by some members which details quick checks for applications(I remember a post by Century, don't know the page number)
- post over a specific topic-(like a post by Oscar on reference letter format etc),
- Post over BC issues, Post over Proof of funds etc etc.
- Many other valuable topics initated by Ashief_ee, Shah2014, future canada and many other members


I know admin have already done a great job and its kinda mean asking them to do more..... but thought it would be a value add to the forum, as the number of pages on the form is increasing drastically and it will get difficult to follow relevant posts on an particular issue.

I was myself trying to keep a track of some imp pages like belowI am sure other memebers would have a much longer and better list ):

Dear All,

I am from Pakistan, I need your help regarding Birth Certificate. Let me first tell you my entire situation. I already have a Birth Certificate of my Son and going to submit to Nadra tomorrow in order to acquire Form B that is required for his Passport. Secondly, I already have Form B of me and My wife but as stated in the CIC document checklist that you require Birth Certificates. How would we get that certificates when we already acquire Form B. Any way i went to Union Council office as well and told them my situation and they suggested a very long procedure which might take 3-4 months.

Now my Questions are: -

1. When i would submit my son Union Council Birth certificate to Nadra for Form B, i would no longer have the original certificate.
2. Nadra issues Family Registration Certificate for Family tree that includes DOB as well. Shall i get that for me, my son and my wife.
3. If not Family Registration Certificate, how would i proceed to get Birth Certificate for me and my wife.


Please help me out in this regard. You prompt response is highly appreciated.

I am not an excel expert so don’t truly understand complications that will be involved in writing some Macros/functions for indexing and getting this in place..... but to keep it simple, i was thinking if some of us or Admins can manually put in imp page numbers.... so that within few days we will have already good number of references..... i know that a very poor way of doing it, but still thought of suggesting

Good thought but indexing will require lot of time (in terms of searching). Btw for recent posts page # keeps on changing as we delete the irrelevant chit chat [won't have major impact on outcome of ur suggestion as only few days old posts can be deleted ]....... but nonetheless it will be a good initiative............

i wud like u take the lead and contribute to the forum by making such excel sheet after Admins give there go ahead, which can be later linked to main SS by the amdins.
