I agree with you that they cannot compromise on the quality of applications getting through .....but neither shud they count on the possibility of receiving less applications than the target....'coz i think the target wud have been set in response to industry demand in order to atleast sustain if not boosting their economy......so both Quality & Target numbers are imp.....I think they just need to analyze trade-off between Long Processing Times & Cost of hiring more officers to process apps in time.......Oscar7 said:On that note of how many applications have come versus how many is the target, if I were the 'boss' of this entire immigration # target setting project I would be sh1t worried right now. My instruction to fellow checkers would be to be as lenient as possible in the checks, so that all reasonable candidates come through. Of course that does not mean folks who made blunders in their application can also join the party, CIO can't allow that to happen.
Plus if the actual # of applications received are substantially lesser than the target #s, it is good in a way for those who get through eventually. Less competition for same jobs later on (although this is subjective, will face completion from local candidates). :
if u ask me, if they compromise on Processing Times they defeat the purpose of responding to Industry Demand........
But unfortunately, CIC is not asking me ..it seems for them saving additional Cost of Hiring more CIC Officers is more important...may be 'coz like our Ministry of External Affairs won't spend more for Finance Ministry or IT Ministry interests.
