Why NDVO not sending my passport back with visa stamped.........its been there from 4th March.....................

Hi Friends,

Got PPR mail on 28th Feb. deposited pp at VFS, Kathmandu, Nepal on 03 March. the tracking status shows your processed passport has been forwarded to NDVO on 04 march. Since then the status remains same. I inquired about it at VFS kathmandu. they said due to closure of Kathmandu airport the pp was sent to New Delhi only on 8th of march. Due to overload at New Delhi custom, the same could not be cleared yet. They are saying that the pp might be cleared on 11th march. my status still says "your processed passport has been forwarded to NDVO on 04 march"


Any forum member experiencing the same situation. its been 13 days since i received the PPR mail. I am worried now, where might have my pp got stuck considering the fact that the deadline is just 30days from the PPR mail. pls help what could be done in this situation.

My wife once lived in Canada more than 6 months but agency and other say usually visa office don't ask this Canadian Police report(RCMP) but they asked. So I recommend all prepare RCMP and FBI(if live more than 6 months in US) as soon as possible before receiving request.

This is completely out of the blue.

CSIS is responsible for immigration security screening for US/CA applicants and applicants from VOs who need to be referred for additional checks related to war crimes/espionage/terrorism, etc (less than 1%).

Immigration and refugee applications for permanent residence that originate outside Canada or the USA are managed by the Overseas Immigrant Screening Program under which the Service shares responsibility for security screening with CIC officials based abroad. Generally, CSIS only becomes involved in the screening process if requested to do so by the Immigration Program Manager (IPM) or upon receiving adverse information about a case from established sources. This division of labour allows the Service to concentrate on the higher risk cases.

Criminality check is another assessment and is done by CIC C&I officer at VO.

I sent this message in response to a query regarding 2174 jobs in Canada. Figured it would benefit all (as most of the points are valid for non-2174 skills as well).

A few points to note about the 2174 job market in Canada :

1. Most of the jobs are concentrated in the Toronto area, followed by Vancouver. There are IT jobs in every major city (but don't expect IT services/product companies to have offices in many cities like they do in US). You will get hired directly by client companies, not service companies.
2. A lot of people (especially newcomers to Canada) will get contract jobs as opposed to full-time. Unlike India, contract jobs are preferred by people as they pay much higher (e.g. $30+ for regular, $50+ for contract) so you can actually save more money even if you have a break between contracts
3. Consultants (in Canada) help you find jobs. Generally they don't charge you anything, they get commission directly from the company that hires you. e.g. a friend got a contract job through consultant that pays him $50 an hour, and consultant gets $50 as well. So if he had got the job without consultant, he could've been making upto $100 an hour (no kidding).
4. A lot of jobs are not advertised, they are only found through references. So start networking in your company/friends circle, if you know someone in an IT company they can refer you and highly increase your chances of getting selected.
5. Communication skills are of prime importance. When employers are selecting candidates, their primary concern wrt immigrants is whether you will be able to gel well within the work environment. To a larger extent, being a good communicator (in English) is valued higher than being a Subject Matter Expert on a technology.

There was a time during my struggle for FSWP2014 journey, when I almost lost the hope but I never completely lost the hope and decided to not quit the struggle. I am from Nepal...though I received PP request on 2nd March...I was able to dispatch my PP from VFS on 9th march only...due to some personal issues.

As on today morning 12th March My VFS status shows "Visa application, tracking ID No.............. is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, NEW DELHI".

Hopefully yours is also the same status by now,I think the delay might have been due to Turkish arline's situation.No need to worry ...

What if one has lived in USA for 6 months and 3 days?

I am pretty sure you will be requested FBI report. It took almost 4 month to get a result for my case.
So I recommend you to apply asap.

FBI PCC request is 100% guaranteed in this case. Apply as early as possible so that this burden does not delay your visa by months.
