Hello Guys..i am your fellow fsw applicant with details updated in ss..at ppr stage. Although the question im about to ask might sound the most idiotic one you have ever came across in the forum..responses would still be highly appreciated.. I come from an upper middle class family ..currently employed with an organization of high repute ( top 5 in fortune 500) ..me and my wife earn well over INR 2L per month..i have my own house without any loans etc in an upmarket society at Gurgaon..Would it be advisable for me to quit my job here and start from scratch at Canada ???
Im in a big time dilemma and any honest opinions would be a great help.
Thanks
Hi, I can understand ur situation. Its not easy to provide yes or no answer..... Based on my experience in Canada for the past 4.5 years, I can give you some inputs, which u may consider...
My suggestions:
1) Apply for jobs from India, if get one, move to Canada....
This is less realistic.... The employer may not give u job as u are not available for interview.. and u may need additional course work to get the job
2) The best suggestion is to take leave from job in India... finish Landing procedure first and stay in Canada for few months and try to find the job... if u both can get good jobs u may resign Indian job and stay in Canada....
again the problem is u will loose money and time if u decide to go back.
Lets start with the positive points moving to Canada.........
1) You will enjoy ur given privacy in Canada over India...Less population density and no one will interfere in the private life of ur family..
2) Very secured place to have family
3) Nature, so many places to roam around
4) If you able to manage a job, ur pay will be high (especially engineer or management ppl)
5) Clean air to breath
6) Ppl are very welcoming and well behaved, I did not see any racism so far... (It does not matter what they think inside but they are polite and welcoming outside)
7) There are certain comforts that u get that cannot be simply explained... one has to experience it.
Negative side:
1) No Job security,... despite many ppl are in good jobs, anyone can be laid off from work at any point...switching jobs is a routine. in India this is the greatest advantage... job security... Also, oil prices influence economy and job market of Canada, especially provinces like Alberta...right now the market is going down.....
2) Indian work experience may not be considered
3) Weather in the winter is depressing and biggest hassle... if u love trees and gardening... forget it
4) Many ppl at work believe that they are better than u for no reason... of course u can change their opinion by being confident and showing ur skills
5) Money management is super important.... I feel like spending money in Canada is way too easy and there will be that fee this fee... mechanics are expensive... any labour work is more expensive must be careful with buying stuff
6) Labour work is paid well compare to office jobs.. also jobs are mainly for engineers and management ppl... nurses, medical doctors... If u wish to work for management or finance or medical or pharmaceutical u may have to do extra course work in Canada
6) If u are use to many friends around u and love to hav friends company most of the time... it could be a problem here.. usually u need to call well before and check availability and visit ppl
There is + and - everywhere, so up to u to decide
