U gotta be kidding me!!!

As per SS, Laksya007, a 25th Sep 2171 applicanat,Visa Office # CPC Ottawa, got his CC charged on 12th December!!

Congratulations to Laksya007 buddy..

Rest of 2171 Sep applicants, What's going on here???

I thought 2nd Sep application is the last one to be under the cap...

Also a 17th Sep applicant got a reply from CIO that his application has been returned on 26th Nov because cap has already been reached...

Which one of these two events are true?? Or is this possible that both are true????

ashif_eee,Ksa0510,Optimist3 can u guys please check on NOC 2171...Do u think Sep applicants are still in the game.??
Can anyone please update on the above.. I am also 2171 applicant, file recd 29/09.. payment mode CC... totally confused..

Dear collegue, I'm very sorry to hear this. Could you please elaborate a little, because I did not quite understand your situation (I myself am a freelancer, and year of my freelance may come to play important role in my case). You have 10 years of translation experience, 1 of which as a freelance translator, and your file was returned because of that one year? What about the rest 9 years? It doesn't make sense to me. Thanks!
Now I am worried too. For the last two years I've been working as an "internal" translator at a translation office for a specified amount of time in a week, but I do not have an employment contract that requires me to come to the office and work there for a specified amount of time and I don't have a stable salary. I am paid based on the numer of pages that I manage to translate during the time that I am there. In my country there are no translators that would have permanent employment contracts.

That's interesting! What country are you from, bro?

Anyway, why are you worried? Checklist suggests that freelance jobs do count (although I don't know how do they determine.. er... full-timeness of such job. I did provide as much information about my freelance as possible - dates and word counts... The other problem with freelance is that it's not only translation that you have to do. There's also accounting, marketing, occasional trips to banks and tax offices... It's not translation work, and it's not remunerated directly, but it sure takes time and there's no way to get away from it... I really don't know how they determine fill-timeness of a free-lance work)(I also wonder where does the freelance work start - date of first paid project? date of first payment? date of incorporation/registration?). If you presented documents containing information that checklist requires, I think you'll be fine.

Anyways, I think our unlucky collegue had 9 years of experience in other 0, A or B level NOC, and only one year in translations - that's why his app was rejected. Can't find another reasonable explanation.

I think our collegue should reapply and if this doesn't work, bring the case to the Canadian court, as the immigration decision was unfair, at least it seems unfair to me. The requirements are that a successful applicant should have at least one year of full time experience in an eligible NOC category or an equivalent experience of ca. 1600 hours in a year in that category (I don't remember the exact numer of hours required). It does not matter what his occupation had been before he became translator. He has the required one year experience in translation and so is perfectly eligible.
My employment letter states that I'd been working for the required numer of hours at the translation office for one year. I also have education in translation. I hope I'm fine and I've managed to prove the eligible work experience.
