I have already asked this question before in a separate thread but unfortunately received no satisfactory response.

Question -

I am a bachelor (also have no Kids and was never married before), am Not a Minor and am not using a representative to file my application, therefore there are certain forms that do not apply to me. I need to know how to deal with these forms - whether to fill them up stating 'N/A' in every box or just not include them at all in my final application package during submission via mail to the CIO ?

The forms I am referring to are the following:

IMM 0008DEP - Additional Dependents/Declaration
IMM 5409 - Statutory Declaration Of Common-law Union
IMM 5604 - Separation Declaration Of Minors Travelling to Canada
IMM 5476 - Use Of A Representative

Can someone please help me out here ?

IGNORE THE FORMS.......YOU DON'T NEED IT AT-ALL.
EVEN SOME MARRIED COUPLES DOESN'T NEED THE FORMS TOO.
I'M MARRIED BUT I DIDNT INCLUDE ANY OF THE FORMS YOU LISTED.

Getting married in october.

Are you going to send in her document to CIC or will update the local VO once your application gets transfer to them.

2. Native Language: Urdu; next 2 ques select "Neither"
3. ID Card: NO
4. Either of the 2 is acceptable.

For question # 1, I am confused.
Some people on this forum said it should be Worker because my visa is bound with my job. If I don't have job, I cannot stay here. With this logic, isn't it correct to write Worker (with validity dates)? I believe if someone is applying let's say from Australia to Canada and currently having Australia PR then he should select PR option not the Worker because his/her visa is not bind with work/job.

I think it make more sense to select Worker in my case.

I agree with you. 3 months are more than enough to get any application charged. It is logical that DDs with 3 months validity should work. However, I was pointing to specific line mentioned in Guide 7000. I am just too cautious for things like this, that's all. A little extra care does no harm!! and I mean no offence to your suggestion. You are doing a great job by helping complete strangers out. Keep up the good work!!

Like i said,its my personal opinion from trend of events.
I've got a perfect application returned simply because of CC issue....Thats why i try to avoid it all the time.
My banking transaction server failed at the very point when CIC was supposed to deduct the processing fee....and it was returned.

Phew. Just dropped my application package at the DHL Service Point. Hopefully it will be with CIC on Monday, 2nd June.

Experts an urgent query. In 2010 i applied for the student visa for canada and got the visa. At that time i filled father and mother date of birth as assumption but didnt remember what i exactly filled .

So now while filling the date of birth of father and mother what should i do ??

Confused.....

Fill their DoB same as in their birth certificate (If any) or use the DoB in their passport.....

Regarding your confusion in #1,Let's define a permanent resident to clear your doubts.


"Permanent residency refers to a person's visa status: the person is allowed to reside indefinitely within a country of which he or she is not a citizen. A person with such status is known as a permanent resident"

The question is...what happens after your work permit?...are you still entitled to be living there with no issues?

At the end of your FSW2014,you will be issued a PR card.Your Canadain PR card will not be tied to your working in Canada so even if there is no work,you still get to live in Canada.
Coming back to your #1......I dont think you are a permanent resident with your explanation of your status.You only work there with work permit.
Once your work permit expires,you will have to leave the country.....YOU ARE A WORKER AND NOT A PERMANENT RESIDENT.

has got acknowledgement from CIC or their DD has been cashed?

I have applied for 2174 and my application was received on 11 May 2014. How long do I have to wait? I have send charge through
DD. Please I really need help. Thanks

We are waiting to here from forum members who used DD concerning the encashment. Did you intend to say your application was received on May 12 because 11 was a saturday and i do not think CIC operate on weekend. All the best in waiting...

No need for passport copies of parents.
I doubt if CIC will raise any query for it but if they do you can always explain. Make sure you give the correct information.

Just tell him to speed up his application, no one knows yet how this NOC numbers look like, till CIC does a cap update. its 1000 places so his chances are a lot. all the best to your mate. ;D
