FSW 2014 applicants from Nigeria - Let's network

Wow what a wonderful testimony, Congratulations on your landing and new addition. So happy for you.

Dear All,

This is a thank you message for the forum members who have been so supportive throughout from 2014. I have shared pm with some of them including bonblu, bbjm, pipis husband,neyobash who have all encouraged me to march forward. We landed in Canada on 04.04.16 and we got a baby girl the day we landed. It was challenging to say the least.

We received our passports back on 28.03.16 and wife was already 39 weeks pregnant. We were unsure what to do cos the risks were high but God has already settled it tho we didn't know that. To the Glory of God, it was as if the check in counters and hostesses couldn't see the pregnancy even tho she had a big belly. Everything went well but the pain for my wife was too much and she was taken from YYC in an ambulance to the airport. She delivered around 4-5 hours later. Baby was delivered at 39 weeks, 5 days.Because of the emergency, my processing was fast tracked and they only checked my passport and my COPR. My wife was not landed cos she didn't go through immigration. We went to the immigration on 06.04.16 and she was officially landed and her paper was dated as 04.04.16.

It took strenght, determination and support to make the journey. We were advised that AVO might not be willing to issue the visa for the new born if she was born before we travelled. Our visas were also due to expire in June 2016 so it wd have been challenging to make a passport for the baby cos we had to go to nigeria (Have lived in Qatar for over 5 years), send the passport to AVO and await further instructions which could have resulted in delays or expiration of our visas.

FSW 2014 almost took 2 years but we thank God it has ended in praise. BBJM is a treasure. we have not even met and she was already sending food and wipes to us at the hospital. We finally met and she was there at christening of our baby. Lots of good people on this forum.

Congratulations Hagnes on the arrival of your daughter and on your successful landing in Canada. I am glad all worked out well for your family.

Just an advice to all on getting good deals on tickets for your trip, especially those looking at flying KLM. I will advice you search directly on their website: Klm.com or Klm.com.ng, very late at night or very early in the morning, while also putting the days of travel into consideration. Better still you can send a message to their Customer service on Twitter or Facebook to search for affordable flexible tickets for you. You will be surprised on what you will get compared to what travel agents and other travel websites are offering.

Yes, it was after my PPR. Got my PPR mail on the 29th March. Sent back on the 6th of April. Arrived Accra 8th April. Thank you

Congratulations ijeree, I guess this is after your PPR, it means they have come to a positive and final decision on your application for immigrantion to Canada and will be sending your Visas and CoPRs

Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before securing a job; and there is another who graduated at the age of 27 and secured employment just after national service. Everyone is working in their "Time Zone "

Joyce Meyer started her own ministry at age 41 and still alive today at 71 years old. She is working in her "Time Zone "

Someone became CEO at the age of 25 and died at the age of 50 while another became a CEO at the age of 50 and lived to 90 years.

Everyone worked based on their 'Time Zone'.. Some people have everything that work fast for them. Work in your "Time Zone" and pray for God's direction.

Brethren, God has designed us for a particular purpose that is different from the other person. God allows things to happen at His own time. Your Time Will Come.

Colleagues, friends, associates, younger one(s) might "seem" to go ahead of you. Don't envy them, it's their 'Time Zone.'.

Yours is soon. Hold on, be strong, stay focused stay in faith and stay true to yourself. All things shall work together for your good.

It is a pre arrival settlement organization funded by the Canadian government. Anyone that has gotten MR or PPR can register and you will be linked with a pre-arrival settlement counselor in your chosen province whom you would have an online webcam meeting to discuss your needs. In my own case she requested for my resume before the meeting and when we had the meeting, she was highly impressed that it was Canadian standard. We talked about my career and skills that I will need to enable me settle in quickly as soon as I land, she also linked me up with a housing agent whom I will start communicating with two months before I land and we discussed a whole lot of stuffs especially things I will need to do while in Nigeria before landing and things I will do as soon as I land. She also registered me for five different pre arrival online courses related to my career and working in Canada, which I have already started with lots of assignments and quizes. She also sent me a 10 page plan of Action of my needs that we discussed.

For everyone who has received their MR and PPR, please do yourself a lot of good and check the link, take advantage of the program before you land, so you don't get confused, I will advise if possible do all the necessary homework in Nigeria before landing.
