Good evening my fellow Forumites
Going through the following VOs today Singapore, London and CPC Ottawa, I discovered there were a lot of updates reported. Interestingly, CPC Ottawa has been in the forefront of giving PPR in the last couple of weeks. I know we all believe it will end in praise which is very commendable but in addition to our beliefs, I would suggest that we strategize and share ideas on how we can make our voices heard at AVO and CIC. AVO cannot continue to remain silent when some people's medicals is getting to 4 months to expire. Please let's think about this my people.

There's nothing we can do other than lament. AVO can just be said to be the slowest VO that is processing fswp 2014. Even when other vo's have picked up pace, nothing yet from our beloved AVO. Our settlement funds is increasingly becoming peanuts due to the free fall of the Naira. Everything wey I learn for coa orientation sef, I don forget. All the people in our fsw batch had all settled, some are even giving birth, but AVO have just shifted interest from us to any other thing they are occupied with . All I know is that it's unfair, the wait continues .

Gcms is just like a student seeing his marked script from his lecturer. They are the notes and steps taken so far on your application and also contains doubts they might have about an application. So it's like getting your test script back from your lecturer.

You are not alone earl have just about the same timeline meds done 12th august.uploaded on ecas oct 14th Still praying and waiting.

Hello Guys,
The whole waiting stuff is proven to be something else depending on how you take it.
I got my MR on the 28th July and MR was done August 11th, mhhh I think my Ecas was updated to Medical result received on the 14th October thereabout and till now no show from AVO. So you are not alone alone in the waiting game and I believe as such that AVO has not forgotten you.
The issue now for me is that the naira is having some seizures >:( >:( and CIC has reviewed the settlement fund :o :o :o..what will guys be doing now???
I even got a news that my wife is pregnant ;) ;) ;) ;)congratulations to me,. but from the EDD it seems it will be either August end or first week of September ??? ??? ???. Really did not anticipate this but uhh we seem ahead of our plans, but one thing is sure whether Naija or Canny, my baby will be overly welcome :) :) :) :). I will surely celebrate. Let AVO wake up,, surely I wish to have a little Canadian citizen in my home :D :D :D :D.

Greetings my people!
So we are getting close to leaving for Canada o.
My wife is pregnant and our visa expires in April so we are leaving for Calgary in March. Her due date is in June so we will at least take advantage of the free medical insurance in Alberta.
I am planning to stay for a month to sort out all necessary stuffs and leave back for naija to my job while she will stay and give birth.

Job search from here doesn't seem to be easy at all. Most applications are not even replied to and the first rejection I got last week from over 100 applications I have made gave me hope :-).. I was like at least some progress lol.....

Between I heard now that we need to have proof of fund of about 15,000 CAD when arriving for family of 2 dont know how true it is o and we cant even buy CAD in Naija while USD rates are not promising at all :-(
Best of luck to the ones waiting for news!

Good morning all, please lets keep our hope alive and avoid any negative comments about AVO. I know how we all fell now anxiety, expectation and frustration might be setting in.
There is a lot to do after we get our Visa, I think we can use this waiting period to do a lot of research. I think going by AVO processing time for naija applicants which is 33 months, I can say that we FSW14 are highly favoured compared to previous years, some of us have gotten visa in less than one year, other have had their medicals and waiting for PPR, while some are still waiting for their MR request to drop. Please I implore all to remain calm as we will all received our visa at God appointed time. Remain bless all

The processing time was reviewed downwards this year to 13 months. 33 months does not apply again. Let's expect AVO to wake up in line with the new processing time.

Are you sure they are actually working in line with the new processing time of 13months?

Some of us are already more than 13 months in terms of processing time oooo.

Mine for instance will be 13 months by Feb 08 (going by my ecas update of "we started processing your application on ...."). Medical is almost 6 months already and nothing yet.

Badt guy Neyobash. Using the opportunity to market drop off and pick up since 1800 bc. Lol. We should be patient my people. I don deh anxious sotay I don humble and look on the brighter side of life

Waiting can and has been really frustrating, especially if one does not know why......I've been upset, emotions really high, troubled etc....Whilst POF might be intact, additional monies/income (that could have enhanced POF) has gone into necessities cos life must go on, AVO or not.

So my take, COPAs we won't be doing a RE-MR cos whether dem like or not, na done deal especially if there's nothing in our GCMS that says otherwise. Let's use the waiting period to get ourselves prepared so that we can hit the ground running when we land. As for the gradual reduction in POF value, let's change whatever we can to USD or CanUSD. To those awaiting MR, nothing do una....it's gonna come sooner than later in Jesus name.

Above all, like Tbaba said, we're luckier than some. If it's any consolation, processing times for EE is now 15months.

All the best to all of us and I doff my hat in respect.... :-*

Dear forunmites, if what I heard and am thinking is anything to go by, then we might need to wait for a long time or pray very hard to change the situation for better. This has to do with the failing in oil price and invariably affecting employment conditions and loss of job globally. I learnt though not proved that thousand are loosing their jobs monthly due to daily decrease in oil price in Canada, hence the authority feels it does not make a logical sense to bring more people when there are no available jobs for them to secure. I pray this is not a fact, if it was then we need to pray for the condition to change so it can affect us positively in getting our visas on time and able to secure a good job once there. Landed forumites should please confirm this and tell of the employment conditions overthere.
