Good evening house,

Please I want to raise a $550.00 draft for RPRF from a Nigerian Bank and it has been so difficult because of the recent policy by the CBN which forbids crediting our dorm account with dollar purchased from the parallel market. GTbank also said they cannot debit my naira account to issue this draft. It is very frustrating. Does anyone know any bank that can get this done me?.

Please I will appreciate a quick response as I am pressed for time. Thanks

You can pay online with your card. Search pay application fees on the cic website.

Dear All,

Please I need urgent advise!

I was in the UK for my masters when I applied but I am done and returned to my country, Nigeria.

I am thinking of changing my visa office to Accra (AVO) for further processing of my application, coupled with the fact that LVO is snail processing and it might be difficult for them to do background and security check since they are not use to treating applications for Nigeria citizens.

Do I write to CIC or you advise I leave my application in LVO?

Please provide me the email address to contact CIC if necesssary.

Thank you so much.

Hey Layorh12,
You are right, we cant pay with our bank cards again because of the CBN peg, I learnt Zenith Bank has not pegged their cards yet though. You might want to arrange with someone using a Zenith Bank Cards first ,or I would suggest you find someone with an International Credit Card; use the persons Card, and pay the equivalent.
I had someone in your situation earlier this week, he had to use a friends Credit Card based in the UK as a payment option and now paid the conversion equivalent to the persons Naira account here.

Good morning and thanks a lot house.

May be I should explain a little clearer.

The Visa office in ghana recently sent my MR and also ask that I pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee (RPRF). However I just got married this week and I want to file for my wife who obviously has to pay the $550.00 application fee via a draft (I dont have a credit card.). I intend to pay $980.00 for the the RPRF for the two of us as well as $550.00 as her application fee since I am filing for her as a spouse. Please the questions are

1. Can I pay both $550.00 application and $980.00 RPRF online with a debit card?.

2. If I cant pay with card and I have to make a dollar draft, which bank in Nigeria can do this for me at this time since Nigerian banks no longer allow dollar deposits in dorm accounts and Gt bank has also said they cant issue a dollar draft and debit my naira account.

I will appreciate help from the house.

I used debit card to pay for CAD980 via online 5 minutes ago. You can make the payment once and indicate the reason for making the payment on the receipt. I used Fidelity Bank Debit Card. Try to see if your bank will authenticate the payment. You can look for other options if it wasn't through.

Hi Layorh12 ,
(1.) You can pay both $550 and $980 RPRF online with a debit card if you have one.
here is the link to make payment https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en

The condition however is - Provided your bank has not limit the cap amount, as at Wednesday, GTBank cards tried on the payment platform gave the following message

'Dear Customer, your transaction was declined because the amount attempted exceeds your approved cumulative limits'.

I learnt Zenith has not capped theirs and i think Monjay replied he used Fidelity Bank and it went through.

So a transfer of the equivalent to people who have accounts with these banks may help.

(2.) You don't need to make a dollar draft.

Hi FX,
LVO is not so slow as you think. Infact, they treat numerous applications from Nigeria Citizens based in the UK.
In my own opinion, I think they are faster than AVO.
Back to your post..
Your timeline suggests you filed your application in September 2010. Is this correct?
Are you changing because you don't intend to go back to the UK or because LVO is just generally slow?
Have you done your Medicals yet? If you have, where was is done?

I would suggest you raise a CSE on this to LVO/AVO explaining you are no longer in London and state your current location.
Your application might be delayed a while because of this though.

this is the link for LVO - CSE https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=london
this is AVO CSE https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=accra

Hope this helps
