Hello forumites,

Congratulations to everyone with updates from CIC and AVO.
I'll appreciate opinions on POF please- after submitting my application in Nov,I moved the bulk of my savings to money market and fixed income investments for my children and I. Will the statements of these investments be acceptable as POF by AVO especially the ones for my children? A friend told me that my children's funds statements may not be accepted by AVO. I argued otherwise bcos I've been transferring money there from my salary account.
Is there anyone who was/is in a similar situation? Pls advise

based on my personal experience , it shouldnt be a big deal
money market instruments(fixed income inclusive) is one of the best instruments to present to AVO.
Just get a statement trail showing the movement from your savings acct to the money market instrument
also do a covering letter explaining why you had to move the money from savings to money market
it doesnt matter who the beneficiary of the fund is as long as the beneficiary is included in the application.

Hello House,
Please, on my initial Application, I choosed Fort McMurray ( ALBERTA) as city I intend to leave, but have a rethink about it and now preferred Edmonton in same ALBERTA.

I am due to submitted and updated IMM0008ENU because I have a new baby, which i want to add to my application, should I change ?

Kindly advice

The Bill of rights and freedom ( i think section 6) allows citizens and permanent residents to live anywhere in canada.
I really dont know if they take the portion of the intended city to live as a factor... but to be on the safe side, I would say its best you still fill same since no one knows how it really works... so as not to delay your application unnecessarily
As long as its fsw application, you can land anywhere, stay anywhere within canada.
the only people i know this case affected then were the provincial nominees....
My own analysis sha...forumites are free to add or remove from this ;D

Congratulations and welcome to the queue. It takes about 5 months waiting period but could be less or more as the case maybe. I am Sept 2014 applicant with PER in mid Dec 2014, I would be in my 5th month waiting period by next weekend except AVO says the waiting is ok. So, it's a big endurance queue but will surely end in praise as the waiting becomes unbearable.

Cheers

Hi guys,
A quick question please. Has thete been any experience where someone's place of work has been visited for verification. Heard some cases with the New Delhi visa office but none for AVO. Do they do calls or physical visits?

Thank you

Hi, you are free to land at a different location from the one in your application but for administrative ease, please leave the original city filled in the form, do not change it. This will raise less questions from the reviewing officer and you avoid unnecessary delay.

When you get your PR visa you are free to settle anywhere in Canada except Quebec. Quebec is the only province that has its own separate immigration program. Welcome aboard, all the best.
