Hi Motivated........Welcome to the forum and thanks for this info. Did you make inquiry from CIO about your file transfer (AOR), before receiving the mail or they sent you the mail without request? I got my PER email on 7th of August, but yet to receive any further communication from CIO.

Thanks

Hi Ussave,

I had sent an enquiry email on my application to CIO long before I got my PER email. So, it probably might have been a reply to the mail I sent. However, the mail I received did not make any reference to that mail and the subject just had a RE:file number. I believe as other members of the forum have explained, your file should be in Accra by now be rest assured. As a form of verification, you could shoot an email to CIO just to reconfirm.

Hi Mum T, according to the Document Checklist, acceptable POF is bank account statement, bank balance certificate or fixed deposit certificate. So if the pension you are referring to is part of the funds in a bank account, whether current, savings or time deposit, it will be accepted. But if you mean a person's pension fund account it might not be accepted as it wasn't specified as acceptable to CIC. All the best.

Still on POF: what exchange rate should one use to ensure the requirement is met?

Kindly confirm if MR has been sent to any 2014 Fswp applicant on this forum by AVO. Need to know how slow they are. If you need to get a transcript sent to WES from UNN, I can help with that. PM me.

Hello Ussave, I don't think it really matters whether one receives aor or not, so long as you have received your PER, there's no cause for alarm. Your application will definitely be transferred to avo.

Hi RP.....Thanks, we will all receive the good news very shortly.

I now understand better, no need for more verification as it should be in AVO right now. Thanks.

Thx much DeeBruv! Appreciate it.
So, when was your own speaking test relative to your scheduled test date? And how many days' notice were you given for it? I'm attempting to poll what typically happens in the Lagos test centre :); thx again!

BabyBal. I am sorry for the late response.
I did IELTS twice. I did one 3 years ago in anticipation of the 2013 May FSW but my NOC was not listed for 2013.
then my speaking test came up within a week after my main tests. In 2014 my NOC got listed but my IELTS had expired so I had to do another IELTS. this time, my speaking test was taken about 4 days before my main test. The Speaking test date is unpredictable but falls within the 7 days before or after the main tests. usually the speaking test lasts for about 14 minutes and your conversation with the test official will be recorded so they are never in a hurry. thank God I was able to make an acceptable score again. Because of the huge number of IELTS applicants, about 50 people may be taken per day so you never can tell which date you will be fixed. just leave the 2 weeks around your main tests free (1 week before the main test and 1 week after)because your speaking test date may come in 3 or 4 days notice.

For those who took IELTS test in Lagos:
- how many days before / after your scheduled test date was the speaking test?
- how many days before the speaking test did you get the schedule notice?
- what time did your other tests start on main test day?

Your time and responses are much appreciated.

speaking was 2 days before the reading, listening and writing tests. I received the schedule notice about 10 days before. There was about 30mins delay.

Hi, welcome on board. Just to clarify ksa's good suggestions to you, mutual funds (a form of investments) will not be acceptable. It's advisable you use funds in a bank account; either savings, current or fixed deposit. Obtain the bank account statement or certificate to reflect the fact you have the funds. Cheers.

Kindly clarify why Mutual Funds investments are not acceptable. I understand that most mutual fund companies are subsidiaries of a financial institutions (mostly banks).

ECA update: I used a guy to help obtain my transcript from OAU - gave him the assignment on 18 Aug, transcript was couriered to WES on 22 Aug, and received @ WES on 27 Aug. I received notification from WES on 10 Sep that my report is ready. Entire process from requesting transcript to getting ECA report took about 3wks... not bad @ all considering the 8 - 10wk process I was prepared to work with.

Outstanding docs: IELTS results, NPC birth certificate, some reference letters - all on course :).

That's good. Also ensure you amend your profile on social media to align with your work experience.

Hello CalgaryChic, cic has specified the documents they want as POF. Going outside of this is asking for trouble. So please try and stick to the requirement. All the best.

Hello mii4jans, avo still dealing with 2013 Fswp applicants, I think they are currently sending MR to those who applied in september 2013. So we've got to wait till it gets to our turn. Cheers

There is no specific standard for this as exchange rates fluctaute. What you can do is base your benchmark with any of the reliable sources online. I used www.xe.com which is a Canadian company and ensure your naira is well above the required for your application to accommodate fluctuations. Cheers.
