Wow, so many threads posted since my last visit. Congratulations to everyone with updates and more patience to all of us still expectant. It will end in praise for all of us, IJN Amen.

It is well Patrioticanadian *hugs*; just follow the pieces of advice given by bonblu and Dotsngr and you should be fine.

In my opinion, please do the following..
1.send engagement pictures (not photocopy) as it will be returned to you anyway after the whole process
2.. get a photocopy of the publication from the newspaper as evidence of requirement by Nigerian immigration for your passport to be processed in your husbands name..
3..resend a copy of your statutory declaration of common law union ( please get it done if you didn't do that with your initial application) as it could be a reason for the various questions.
4..Go to a Notary Public and declare that all information and documents above is genuine as attached with the the letter..
send all to AVO asap and PLEASE DO NOT BACK DATE ANY DOCUMENT with registry oh.( to avoid been banned due to misrepresentation).bcos they may have done some verification with the relelvant ministry before contacting you..

Hi sis, I remember also in the past that husbands have to write a consent letter to immigration before they issue thier wives an international passport? Did this apply to you then? If so, do you hv a copy of that letter? That letter may be of help too?

Hello house. Please I just went through the Schedule A form and I discovered the visa refusal part is to Canada and any other country. Meanwhile, I've been refused visa to Canada and USA before but at the time I submitted my application, I only filled refusal to Canada only. I'm worried and confused at the moment. Hi Lighton, the omission is not much to worry about. So many others before you also failed to include their prior visa refusals and they have successfully gone through processing and landed here. The main issue is that if you were not refused visa due to criminality issues then you are fine. When you get to MR stage, you will be required to fill the form again and you may elect to include the visa refusal then or you may just ignore and move on. You'll be fine, all the best.

... but wait a minute; what was this family's crime... The visa was issued and it is general knowledge that American citizens do not need visa to enter Canada;

Is it possible that their Family Update Forms
did not get to CIC?

Or were they supposed to process a Nigerian Passport for the American born child?

or is CIC suspecting them of terrorism because of their stay in the middle east?...

... or was it because they delayed to arrive Canada?


I am greatly puzzled by this story and sincerely pray CIC tampers justice with mercy.

God please intervene for this family IJN!

Got delivered today. Their mail was on the 6th. How soon would I expect to hear from them?

Is there Anyone in my shoes that has gotten a feedback from Accra ??

Hi, the issues are:

• The family arrived in Canada with a family member that was not recorded in their initial application

• The processing office failed to properly process the family's application, especially the fact that the family repeatedly tried to add the baby to the application before they tried to land in Canada but the authorities failed to act on the updates

• The authorities realised their error and have now allowed the family to remain in Canada to complete the addition of the child to their application
  file

The family did no wrong and are the injured party here, they are victims of bureaucracy. We are glad it will soon be resolved. Cheers

Is there Anyone in my shoes that has gotten a feedback from Accra ?? There are many people on this thread who passed through similar situation. Just read patiently, backwards on this thread to find their stories

Please I need advice:

We received request for MR, POF and PCC on 29th of June 2015 thus:

In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following:

- Medical examination for the entire family. Medical forms will be sent to you via email tomorrow.

- Right of Permanent Residence Fee for you and your spouse.

- Updated police clearance certificates for you and your spouse from Nigeria

- Copy of your "Specific Bank" savings account statement for the past six months. A letter from the bank indicating your balance in this account only is not sufficient.

- Updated proof of funds: you must have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations. Send updated bank statements, fixed deposit certificates, etc. If you have made large deposits into your accounts or fixed term investments, you must provide evidence of where the funds originated. Subsequently, we sent all the required documents and got confirmation from the FedEx Tracker that they were delivered on the 16th of July and received by S. Mattew.

On the 17th of July, we received another email from Accra, requesting for:

- A newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature Make sure you answer truthfully to all questions. for applicant and spouse. Indicate your past history since you reached the age of 18. Specify what kind of work(s) you are doing and have been doing since then. Do not use acronyms. Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. Indicate all addresses in Nigeria and other countries (if applicable) since you reached the age of 18.Make sure you do not leave any gap in time. You must declare if you have been refused any visa or immigration applications in the past from any country. Failure to comply may result in a refusal of your application.

Ø Copy of your "Specific Bank" savings account statement for the past six months. A letter from the bank indicating your balance in this account only is not sufficient.
