Dear Kollins,
Much has been said about this post and its writer, I will however like to know what your take is with respect to your personal experience since I can see that you've landed already. You have seen both sides canada and nigeria. So is this whole immigration thing worth it especially for people who are having a very comfortable life here in Nigeria?
My people,
I have a feeling that my question to Kollins is being misunderstood. It's sure not to discourage anyone from immigrating but rather to get us thinking about such realities that may await one over there which will be good to prepare for. Kollin's perspective will shed light since it's a first hand perspective.
Nothing takes away the decision that each person have to make by themselves and for themselves.
By very comfortable I mean being able to conveniently generate your own electricity, provide your own security in short be the government to yourself and still be able to help out a few other folks in whatever way.

Dear Seniors,

Below are the main points of my query.
. I have received my MR (LVO)at 1st May and done our medical in 12th May except my wife X-RAY as she was 11 weeks pregnant.
If we do X-ray now, I think she will be able to only fly until before 32 weeks which is 25th of September.
We have total 13 weeks (3 months) left from now before completing 32 weeks for the remaining process (...any additional req...PPR and Visa).
Will it be reasonable to go for X-ray now and hope for rest of the processing within the above time line?
· If do the X-ray now and visa also issued to 3 of us but unfortunately airlines does not allow to fly or any other medical complicacy not able to fly, then would it be possible latter to add the new born in the application?
· If we able to land Canada before 1month of delivery, would it be possible to avail the medical facilities for delivery?
· Due to this X-ray now / or after delivery decision there must not create any complication in my application and I need your advice/guidance on this.
· Considering above could you please advise the best solution on how to proceed with the next steps?

Could you please help me on the above?

Its better for you to raise CSE to let them file it in your records.
Use the link below to raise the CSE to Accra.

@ lolesky,
great question you asked TKT about comfortable life..
so whats definition of comfortable life?

buying fuel @ premium in an oil producing country
running your own electricity at premium while at paying electricity bill for non existent electricity
where there are no more societal values.
half of the girls you meet on the street are prostitutes
where stealing isn't corruption.
i can go on and on and on..
To crown it all the old assholes believe its their right to rule us with thing myopic minds that have nothing innovative to offer.
I have lived in the middle east and everything works well because they have leaders with a vision.
unfortunately they have nothing to offer me like permanent residence, hence i moved back to my country .
two years being in naija, its like a graduate going to start from primary school, going for interviews, you will be told you are over qualified, cos the final interviewer has refused to develop himself and hence sees you as a threat.
i can go forever on this topic but to make it quite concise ...
LIFE IS A CHOICE, MAKE YOUR CHOICE! thats all
Very well said my brother. .. I agree with you completely.

Dude, I feel your pain....once you've been where there is a system that works, and you come back to naija you tend to wonder, what is going on here...even if your earning good dough on a monthly basis, there is a ton of stress to deal with like the ones you mentioned below...before you know, you've got facial white hair, due to a deterioration in the standard of living, while your friends or relatives still living abroad, who may not be making as much money as you, but enjoying the way of living, will be having no white hair.

There services chase you, here, you chase the service....gateman has he's own stress, electrician has his own, NEPA have their own, water the same, mortgage is like arm robery on white paper...How can a employed average graduate earning a salary of like =N=7M, purchase a house/flat of =N=20 plus or more, settle down with a good spouse, buy a brand new car and enjoy what he is supposed to enjoy. If he is jaiye guy, no chance to enjoy unless there something by the side coming in...

Its crazy, suffering and smiling as the late Fela once said...

super crazy, i tell you.. i am not a fan for leaving naija but men i don't want to die early beg. i gained excess kg due to naija stress alone.
just imagine this.. % on a mortgage in naija is about 18% or more after equity contribution
while in canada its about 3.7% max depending on province.
bcos the so called executive fools in the bank don't know how to generate income internally rather they borrow from
international banks that would make them pay high rates of % cos of the risk rating of the country and they also need to make profit.
hence they lend at single digit from foreign banks to lend to us at double digit.
like i always say naija doesn't have a real banking system.. we just have a deposit and withdrawal banking system...

Congratulations in arrears for your medical updates.....
Not sure i know the current timeline for LVO as against few months back when I'm certain of them.
One thing you must first know is that the xray been done for pregnant women is healthy and free of complications as its more of chest xray than abdomen xray.Even while the chest xray is been performed,an xray shield is often provided to take protection against any scattered ray that may want to affect your baby.
This been said, its perfectly normal if you don't want it done as its strictly your decision.
Meanwhile, the weeks involved is still small for you to get overtly conscious and afraid.
If i were you,she would have done the Medicals when she was in her 11th week when you did yours.....by my calculation of the info you gave, she will be in like 17th week and i will suggest you let her go and do her Medicals immediately....of a surety ,she will have the baby on Canadian soil.
British airline will let your wife fly till her 35th week provided you can present a medical report which shows that the single baby in her is without compilations ......if it's twins, she can still fly in her 32nd or 33rd week........I suggest you explore their options.
I don't know your province of choice but I'm sure that even if you land one month to the birth of your Canadian baby in Alberta province, you have a Medical health provision that commences on your arrival date.....and it takes care of the birth delivery.
If by chance u did Medicals but couldn't land before going to Canada ....which means the new born doesn't have the visa and COPR,just contact LVO to add your new born.......it can always be added at any point of your application ...even if you have your visa before the birth of the baby.
Personally,my advice will be that you do the Medicals now for you to have the baby in Canada later on since I'm sure LVO won't delay u.
Cheers
