It is better to renew your passports now. Extract from PPR message reads as below (see bold fonts).

"PASSPORTS. Check that:
There is an individual passport for each family member accompanying you to Canada. Children must have their own passports.
Each passport is valid for at least 6 months from the time you come for the visa.
Each passport has sufficient free pages (two required for our visa, plus pages for any transit visa)"

CLARIFICATION ON POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE
House, please advise me if this is correct.
I have another copy of the original PCC i used for submission because i requested for two sets initially. Now, I went to Alagbon and i was told they will attach a new certificate to the old one issued to me initially i.e. no need for another set of finger prints. Please will this be accepted by CIC?
Kindly advise asap.

Had 2 PCC too, no need for finger prints for the second PCC.. first finger print sheet was used..just dates updated on the same sheet.

Yes......no need for finger print again.
They will only be changing the certificate to reflect new date and/or new passport identification number.
Moreover,that was how i renewed our PCC when i was submitting them for medicals.....and it was accepted.
