Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA(S) APPEAR(S) READY TO BE ISSUED, IF THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE IN YOUR FAMILY CONFIGURATION. IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY CHANGES, PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE BEFORE PROCEEDING.
PASSPORT(S)

You are asked to submit your passport(s) and documentation BY COURIER within 15 days. We recommend DHL courier, using a pre-paid return envelope.

OR

You may also use the services of VFS Global Ghana by following the instructions on their website at: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ghana/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section.

Applicants residing in Nigeria (PASSPORT SUBMISSION ONLY)

You may use the services of VFS Global Nigeria by following the instructions on their website at:
http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Nigeria/ under the “Passport Transmission Services” section. If you received a letter requesting additional documents, please use a courier service.

Please note that submission of passport(s) in person will not be accepted at the Canadian High Commission.

Important: Please note that we will not respond to queries in this regard: we ask for your patience while we prepare your documents.

The visa(s) will be valid until the expiry of your medical results (13th November, 2015) or until the expiry of your passports, whichever is earliest.

As the validity of your visa(s) has been already established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions below without delay:

PLEASE NOTE: Failure to provide the required travel document(s) within 15 days from the date of this letter will lead us to conclude that you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and your application will be refused based on the information that is available in your file. Once the application is refused, you would be able to reapply, but you would be required to submit a new application and pay a new processing fee. The new application would be assessed according to the Canadian Immigration legislations in force at the time that the new application was filed.

Please note that we will strive to meet the foregoing service standards. There may, however, be occasions when we cannot issue your visas within these standards. Accordingly, you are advised not to commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take any irrevocable action such as selling property, or resign employment until you have received your immigrant visas.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO ISSUE YOUR VISA:
☐ Updated family information: you must advise us of any change in your marital status or family composition. All family members must be listed on your IMM8 application form. Failure to comply may result in a delay in the issuance of your visa.
☐ PASSPORTS. Check that:
There is an individual passport for each family member accompanying you to Canada. Children must have their own passports.
Each passport is valid for at least 6 months from the time you come for the visa.
Each passport has sufficient free pages (two required for our visa, plus pages for any transit visa)
☐ TWO (2) PHOTOS FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER These photographs must be taken with a WHITE BACKGROUND, not be stapled, glued or pinned (you can paperclip or attach them using an envelope). The photographs must be unblemished as they will be used to produce your Permanent Resident Card once you are in Canada. Photograph specifications are included with this letter.
PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF THIS LETTER IN YOUR ENVELOPE.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.
Regards,

Immigration Section - KAS

Hi, POF is a major issue which is why everybody tries to ensure they meet or exceed it. CIO will accept the POF document at face value but your VO will drill down and verify if it is genuine and not encumbered as part of background checks.
Hello Pipis Husband,

How much background check does the VO carry out? Do they actually verify the figures from the bank? I thought that banks dont disclose such information as its private and confidential.

Seems yesterday was mostly for RK visa officer applicants as most updates yesterday came from the RK officer.
I have a strong believe that AB visa officer applicants that are expectant will get tons of positive news today.
My officer is AB and even though I only got my 2nd line of medical received yesterday showing, precisely at 10.46 am (09:46GMT...Ghanian time),I got my passport request mail.
Yes its official....the mail came in at the stated time.
I pray for other expectant applicants (with emphasis on 2013 MR expectant applicants) and 2014 applicants also to get their desired response from Accra Visa office soonest.
One solid advice to MR expectant applicants, the earlier you do your medicals, the better.
Mine was delayed because I did my medicals in the last week of my validity period.
Thanks for all the support once again and I pray for better news for every one reading this.
Cheers.

Hi, you are right but it depends on the context in which the request is made. Some banks may accede to the VO's request since your releasing the bank document to the VO means you are permitting it to be verified. Other banks may only comment on the genuineness of the bank document. It could be argued that if one wanted the bank details to be confidential, you wouldn't make it available for scrutiny.
There have been very few, very isolated cases in the past where some VOs have requested applicants to authorise their banks to disclose their bank details.
Like we say in naija, e dey happen sometimes. :)

@ Kollins, thanks for always watching our backs. Consultants/Agents could be a pain. I paid some consultant $3,995 last year and guess what? They don't care. They don't even follow up on you. They are just interested in your money. Their response many a time is always very slow too. Long and short I missed the cap despite engaging them as early as May last year. This year, I did it myself and God is only trying to show me that my success will be attributed to him and not any consultant.

So my people if you are using a consultant, good or bad, reliable or not, I think after your PER, NOW is the time to disengage. Let's follow the simple disengaging procedure....Wish you all the best ladies and gent.
Hello all,

I feel the emotion up in here about the use of consultants. Well I am a first time applicant using a consultant and honestly I must say that in the build up to the submission proper they picked out holes in my application several times that I would not have noticed or even overlooked especially in my reference letters and accounting for every month of the last 10 years. I only stumbled on this forum this month and would not have had answers to the myriad of questions I had at the filling stage. There would always be bad eggs amongst the bunch. Lack of time to be detailed in reading the instructions and filling the forms isnt basically the reason for using these guys, its that you just want to be double sure you are getting it right. So one doesnt pour in all that emotion only to be rejected for some flimsy inexcusable mistake. I am also very aware that they dont guarantee PRs and that is clearly spelt out in the contract and every mail sent. Looking back now if I had the benefit of this forum when started maybe I would have done otherwise but then these guys came recommended and succesfully guided a friend of mine who landed in June and not doing badly now. I asked in a separate post if it was possible to name the bad eggs so at least to warn unsuspecting victims.

Congrats to all who are almost at the end of the journey and for those of us coming right behind God's favour is ours

Hello Pipis Husband,

Souljah2dcore,
A bank will not disclose the balance on a customer's account to a 3rd party (AVO in this case) without the express written consent of the account holder - banks owe their customers that confidentiality. The bank will only verify the validity/authenticity of the documents the applicant submitted as at the date requested/submitted. However I believe that when AVO is not convinced of your POF, they can ask you to send in statement again (which they expect to be current or as at date) ... or they can ask for additional proof that you have the funds. This is their way of checking that the funds are still available and unencumbered. So if you generate up-to-date statement again or send in up-to-date fixed deposit certificate, you will convince AVO.

Another thing is the implicit language the bank may use that may make AVO ask you for additional proof of funds. For instance you issue a cheque when your account is not sufficiently funded to pay that cheque, the bank will never tell the payee that your account is not funded - a remark such as "Drawers Attention Required" may suggest same .. even though it may also mean that they need additional confirmation or endorsement from the drawer.

So when the bank replies to AVO saying that they are confirming that the statement is valid/authentic and also add "We are unable to comment further on the balance in the account" .. it may be interpreted that the funds are no longer there where it may also mean "we cannot tell you our customers account balance".

Cut long story short, use whatever might you have to ensure your funds are sitting pretty in your bank! To avoid any issue...this is Naija! You be soldier to the core naw :)
