Hi,

I submitted my application for the 2133 Category to London VO in the first week of May, but I don't have any response yet.

Can anyone tell me, how long will it take to get the acknowledgement? I guess its almost 3 months now, what is the reason of no response yet?

I am a little worried about this. If there is no response, what can I do to check with CIC?

Please add your details to the spread sheet.

Also can you please tell on which date was your application received by CIC?
Currently CIC is busy in dealing with 12th May applicants, if your mode of payment is DD then you do need to follow this Spread Sheet as currently 9th may applicants are getting PER emails!

Good luck

Hello folks,

I'm a graduate engineer with 6+ years experience in Telecom sector. I've worked in a mobile operator in Operation & transmission planning department. Microwave planning, IP planning, SDH mux optimization, fault handling etc are in my work scope. So, as a telecom transmission engineer (B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering), can I apply under NOC code 2133?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Ofcourse you can, if your job duties match with duties mentioned in NOC 2133, which can be found here:
http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=122372&CVD=122376&CPV=2133&CST=01012011&CLV=5&MLV=5

you need to have ECA, IELTS and Job Reference letters to apply within a week or two..

Good luck

Hi,
Are they up to the 15th May applicants yet? I am exhausted in checking my ban account constantly!

Thanks

No not yet. CIC is currently processing 13th/14th May applicants. May 15th applications are expected to get processed from next week. Good luck.

Hi Guys,

I just found out this forum & this thread recently. I am also applying for FSW 2014 - NOC 2133. My application was received in Nova Scotia on 07-May-2014 and I got my PER on 06-Aug-2014.

I am a integrated circuit designer. I find myself able to match (or at least tweak to match) 5 out of 9 of the job descriptions under 2133. But I find myself able to match only one of the the job descriptions of 2147.

Interesting thing is, there is titles called "application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design engineer" under 2147. The immigration office seem to consider IC designer under 2147 rather than 2133.

I am going to file against 2133 anyway this year since 2147 is not on FSW 2014 list. But I wonder if anyone from the same field applying to 2133 as well. Maybe we can keep in touch and see how we are evaluated under this circumstance.

Hi laizii,

Have you filed your application already? I am also in IC Design, analog front end. I got my PER last week.

Yes you can if your 70% (atleast) job duties match with the job duties mentioned on the CIC website!

Hello,

I find this forum very helpful. Thanks for all your posts!

I have already finished my IELTS, WES and reference letters from previous employers. By far, I think I reached the minimum points needed.

Is there a specific checklist that I need to review before submitting my documents? I have read somewhere else that I need to include professional certificates like affiliations to professional electronics engineering organizations (IEEE, if applicable), trainings, and seminars related to my career. And also the professional ID's like the licensed Electronics Engineer ID/certificate issued by the government once you pass the licensure examination. Some say they are needed, while some say they're just optional. I need your help to clarify my issues above.

Thank you so much!

fsw2014 NOC 2133 applicant here from the philippines.
God bless us all. ang layo pa ng NOVEMBER :(

That is a really good news, bro!

How do you describe your job? I only see two titles matching IC design, one is digital circuit design engineer and the other one is analog amplifier design engineer. I am doing both digital backend and frontend, and below are my job functions provided by my supervisor:

1. Design and implementation of digital electronic circuits of various functions, from IP to circuit blocks.
2. Research for more efficient design flow to speed up design feasibility analysis, performance boost, and design performance.
3. Conduct simulation for implemented design in power analysis, IR drop, and signal EM.
4. Verify and fix electrical errors such as timing and design-rule violations.

Do you think these are clear enough?

I am looking forward to your suggestion and thanks in advance!

hi naticom, i think your job description is good to go.

when you "view all titles" for NOC 2133, "digital circuit design engineer" is listed there.
