Finally after 14.5 months of waiting, I've been granted Australian PR (Visa 189) on January 16, the Golden Mail was in my Inbox Friday morning....

My Timelines are:

IELTS - April 2013
ACS - September 2013
Lodged 189 - October 28, 2013 [Developer Programmer with 65 Points]
Meds and PCC Submitted - Around Mid December, 2013

Grant - 16 January, 2015
IED - 10 March, 2015

But Absolutely no news whatsoever from SGVO ....

Hi Ashif, ya as I got lots of acquaintances in Australia, and as SGVO's non-stop stupidity never seem to go away.... Australia seems a safer option now.

But I'll still have an eye on SGVO's progress for about 3 weeks, plus I also need to experience Australia in a short trip that I'm making next month before I make any final decision; let's see how things go.

I was also trying to go Australia and waiting for apply.

But I heard lots of negative feedback from my colleagues and friends about the job opportunity especially IT field.

They just discouraged me to go there. But Weather is very good in compare with Canada and I still have the fascination

If there is no news from SGVO in between February, I will apply InshaAllah.

i have received 2nd line on my status on Oct 27. since then no news.what should i do??should i do my GCMS now or wait.I am an bengali applicant and applied on 09-07-2013.

Got an email from CPC-Ottawa VO for wife's 2014 application:


Dear XXXX:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

We notice that you have another Permanent Resident application in progress with Singapore Office, and we would like to know if you wish to withdraw the application at CPC-Ottawa or if you wish to continue.
If we do not receive an answer within 30 days from the date of this email, we shall assume that you wish to continue your application.


This is just for ur information guys...

She got PER on 30th Nov 14.

I am not gonna respond if I am not going to rcv my PPR from SG between this time....

Ya that's correct, I also heard kind of mostly negative comments about jobs in IT field specially... that's why I wanna go there first and assess the situation for a while and talk to some other fellows in-person, aside from IT fields, I'm also planning to look for other sectors such as Banking and Finance, and get my Masters done in a different field, not in IT.
