Most awaited USELESS update from CIC regarding FSW cap. Mech Engineers only 1 application. how funny is this?

It shows that our NOC is not that hot compared to the likes of 1112, 2147 and 2174.
Also the cap update may be for the Applications received till 6-may-2013

YES PEOPLE HAD SENT THEIR APPLICATIONS. THEY WILL SEND IN THE FUTURE TOO WITH THIS KIND OF UPDATES FROM CIC ASSUMING THEY WILL FALL IN 299 SLOTS LEFT FOR NOC 2132 TO REACH THE CAP. ATLEAST CIC SHOULD HAVE GIVEN UPDATES UNTIL PAST 1 WEEK OR THEY SHOULD MENTION THE DATE OF THE CURRENT UPDATE. THIS SEEMS VERY SILLY UPDATE TO ME. ITS FAR MORE BETTER TO RELAY ON SPREADSHEET

You may be right, but I really hope you are not!!! My application was received at CIO on 19/06. The only thing is, I hope my submission falls in the ACCEPTED CATEGORY

The only hope that might save u is through rejection of application by CIC through its selection criteria (not of members present in excel but of outside one)

what happens if you application is returned due to incomplete? if you resend it, do you still fall in cap or is it a fresh application?

It would be considered as fresh application... It all depends upon ur location to receive ur returned application. For India, it takes around 3-4 weeks while for USA, it takes 1 week approx.

I am facing a dilemma. Your comments are appreciated.

In the past job experience letter sent with my package, my employer had mentioned about the various roles I performed / from-o date/ 40hrs per week/ salary. However, it did not specifically mention the duties I carried out. I had supplemented the letter with few other letter that my employers wrote from time to time to immigration USA etc. that actually mentioned the duties. I had requested CIC in my cover letter to note that as well. I now think that the app might get declined as the job responsibilities are not outlined in the only letter that CIC appreciates.

Meanwhile, I convinced my past employer to put in the duties and obtained a new letter (I wish I had done that in first place). Is it worth to send only the new letter with a cover letter requesting CIO to include it with my previously sent application? I don't think my app is touched yet by the CIO as they received it on 5th of June. The driver for my thinking being a faint confidence that CIO will respond to the proactivity favorably, understanding that sending the whole package to the applicant for him/her only to include one letter and send it back is not going to make any difference to the end result as far as that one applicant is considered and given all other as aspects of his/her application are tip-top.

On the flip side I am scared of the possibility that not only will they refuse my request to merge the letter with the rest of my app, but also flag the still unopened package as incomplete.

I know we have been talking about the rules that CIO/ CIC is following. But still, is there any room for out of the box thinking/ approach in this case?

Whats done now can not be changed...Sending additional documents will not help. We have seen one forum member whose additional documents were sent back by CIC.
Don't panick, pray to God that CIC may accept ur application.

Well, there is not set criteria of days....it may happen anyday.

In 2011, CIC updated cap on (opened on 1st July 2011):
21-Jul-2011
27-Jul-2011
29-Jul-2011
2-Aug-2011
3-Aug-2011
4-Aug-2011
8-Aug-2011
9-Aug-2011
10-Aug-2011
and so on.....

Here we can see that cap update happened more than once in a week.
