i filled in BEIJING instead of New York .. can i change the visa office on the generic form by just contacting CIO ?

thanks ..

Why do you consider Beijing as the wrong office?

Are you Chinese citizen out of your home country?

No change is possible in submitted form before issue of PER. . . . .

correct, but if his home/citizenship country is China, than there is no mistake as Beijing will always be his/her visa office, no matter where you go and where you move

You may be ok but can't tell for sure. I know of someone who put wrong visa office and yet got their CC charged...

True only one possible chance is at the time of medical and passport request. . . . you may required to submit your passport at beijing VO. . . . .
I advise after PER with advise of others you change your VO

Visa office cannot be changed by applicant

YEAH - i guess Beijing is always OK - and New York is optional -

i thought it would be easier for me if my application will be processed in NY - since i work here -

but i guess i only have a slightly chance that my file will be processed - since it arrived on July 3rd for 2174 ..

I work in Canada, but instead of choosing CPP Ottawa, I decided to choose Vienna.

I wasn't sure what's gonna happened with my visa extension so I didn't want to risk the chances of my file being transferred from Ottawa to Vienna if I have to go back home to my home country later and lose precious time.

Good luck !
