Hello Seniors,

I am from India and my current location is Ireland.

My question: If I got a passport request and my current location is still Ireland, Do I need to visit India or I can send my passport via post?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bhumika

you can send your passport through friend or relative to India, but if you send through post or courier than may be customs will seize your passport.

As Aimer said earlier, that's one option if you dont want to contact NDVO. If I were you, i would then send an email to NDVO stating that you are on a work assignment in Ireland and it will be ideal if they can arrange for your passport to be stamped in Ireland. It is worth requesting them for this favour and they "may" accept it.. good luck

Don't wait forever please.
Request for your GCMS notes to know what is happening to your case.
Use the link below for GCMS request

My visa is valid till 18th July 2015. I am planning to get married, should i get married before landing in Canada or I should do landing first get my PR card and get married after that? Which way is more convenient and time saving? I would appreciate if anyone can tell how long is the processing time in both cases?

Thanks to all of the members for wishing me for my medical.....:)

Getting married = change in your family (marital) status which means you have to notify the VO. You have two options

Option 1: The visa was issued on the basis of been a single applicant. If you choose to get married before landing, you need to notify your VO and they will advise the process to add your spouse to your application which will mean your additional dependent (spouse) will have to do medical, PCC etc. This means your initial issued visa is void. They will process the additional and issue both of you a new visa.

Option 2: If you choose to land as a single applicant, get your PR card etc and then get married. Your spouse will fall under family sponsporship and you can review all the documents and requirement for PR under the family category
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Either way the time frame is dependent on your VO. You can check the threads for people in your VO with similar issue to guess the time line for adding spouse before landing. The link above will help you see the time line for family sponsorship
