Dear all,

First of all, I would like to congrats to those progressing to final stages of their application. I was absent for some time, busy with my thesis.

I would like to get some advises on my situation as it is a bit confusing. Basically, I am not completely ready to relocate to Canada right now and I am planning to go there 1 year later. However, I need to do landing before the expiry date of my visa. Here are my questions:

1- Since I want to be in Canada as quick as possible, can I go there for just 10 days or so? Is there any rules about the amount of time I need to be there for the first time?
2- As the PR card will not be posted before I leave Canada, I want to give a friend's address. Is it possible to do so?
3- In case there is a problem with my PR card and they asked for me to be there in person, what can I do? If they realize that I am out of Canada, will it be any issue?
4- Is the signature needed at the time of PR card delivery? Or the cards are simply dropped into the mail box? The reason for this question is that if the signature is needed, in case that my friend is not at home at the time of delivery, usually the postman place a note that you have a letter to be picked up at the office. In this case, can my friend pick it up at the office considering that the letter is on my name?

Sorry for my long questions. Any advise is highly appreciated.

Thanks

1. No issues if you go for 10 days.
2. It is O.K to give friends address for PR card.
3. You can travel back to Canada by applying and getting a Travel Document from a Canadian Visa office that serves the country you are in.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
If you are travelling back to Canada in a private car through US - Canada border then only COPR wil suffice.

4. The mail is simply dropped in the mail box.

Hello, Friends. I have a doubt to ask u all.
When we pay fees online on CIC site, a receipt is received. In receipt, under the Name column- name of the credit card holder is printed. Am i right?
I am confused about this because I paid fees for my mother's temporary resident visa and in receipt, my name is printed under the name column. With her application for temporary resident visa, I am sending all documents in her name but receipt is in my name. So, is it fine?
Plz solve this
Thanks

You could opt for GCMS notes asap.

Vishal it will be useless to apply GCMS this time because processing of application has not started. So i suggest to wait for 2nd line update & as soon as your application is opened by VO you will get MR.

Hi Forum Members,

I have received my visa and I am planning to land in Feb 2015. So can someone please provide me info regarding landing process and I am really worried about carrying proof of funds. Need help from any one of you....

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

No proof of funds required. In fact nothing is required except your passport and CoPR. In case you have goods to follow, just fill up the goods to follow form at the airport to save you custom duties later on. Dont worry at all. They will just ask you how much money you have for trabsfer to canada; and you just say how much you have.. thats it. formality only. no one carries money these days.. they know it.

I went with a laptop and my wallet carrying only cards. thats it.

good luck

Can someone help me on this query:

My wife's passport is expiring in July 2015. The visa expiry date is May 2015. We are planning to land in February 2015 and stay there for around 2 weeks. It means that my wife's passport will have around 5 months validity at the time of landing. Will it be any issue?

How about renewing the passport? Is it possible to land with the new passport while the visa is on the old one?

Thanks guys,

guys,
will it be a good idea to raise a CSE as in June i was replied "your file is awaiting officer review" in September again they replied not to contact this office.
