It is alright to take return ticket but you may not get your PR card if you return within a month.

POF in the form of DD / TC is also acceptable.

Thanks very much mate!!

hi all...As you know i got my visa...now last date of my visa is 28th Jan 2015...So I am planning to Land in mid Jan with my wife and two small kids...I will not be resigning from my job...I can take max 3 months leave...So my plan is:if I get a job in 3 months I will stay in Canada...else I will continue my life in India...So I want to use these 3 months very carefully...

I have two options..
1.Land in Calgary which is good for my profession(Chemical Eng.) and stay there for 3 months
But i have heard that Job openings are closed in Jan and Feb
Also, as I will not be having my own car initially, travel for attending interviews, house search, getting groceries will be difficult in extreme weather of Calgary

2. Land in Vancouver and return in 15 days and then again come back and land in Calgary in may and stay for 2.5 months
Vancouver is not good for my profession, there is little chance of getting a job there. but as its weather is good I think its better for a short landing with two small kids. Then in May 2015, I can come back alone and land in calgary, stay there for 2.5 months and find a job

Hi, Good luck for your endeavors. I don't know your experience background but there are opportunities for Chem Engineers. I believe your plans are fine.
I have similar plans, once all goes positive, with a lil change - I may go with family and look for job for 60 days (max leave available) but may return temporarily, if job is not found but will leave my family there so kids continue education and I will keep applying with Canadian address.
My suggestion - if you plan firmly without fear of No Job, I am confident, you will make it in 3 months. Good luck.

One question, you got how much time to land after stamping visa, I was thinking we have complete 12 months from the date of visa stamp.
Take care

Friends,

Checking the post after a lonnngg time. I have an update. I landed in Canada alone almost 4 weeks before and just 2 days before, my wife and child have also joined me. So far so good.

One question: During the immigration check at Toronto airport, the Immigration office did not put any stamp or signed in the COPR for my wife and child. He asked her if the principal applicant(me) had landed and just let her in. Also, no stamp in the passport or on the Canadian visa???

Is this normal? Has anyone come across this? I don't see any proof of her landing with us. If I apply for the provincial health card for my spouse and child, they ask for some proof of landing. If this is not normal, whom should we contact now since she has already landed in Canada?

Please help!!

Dear Friends
Kindly advise me on the following
After landing in Canada with family & kids, if Principal applicant leave Canada (because of job in home country, it is very difficult to take long leave) after 15-20 days without obtaining his PR card; can his wife collect the PR card of the principal applicant on his behalf.

Regards

Hi Frds,

My wife (primary applicant) has got PER for her application in the last week. Now we will have to wait to get MR from NDVO.

We have a big problem here. My PP (Spouse passport) will expire on Oct 2015.

1. Please suggest when should we renew spouse passport?
2. Should we renew it before doing MR or after MR?
3. Do I need to inform CIC or NDVO abt new passport?
4. Will it delay our application?

i would really appreciate a quick response.

Regards,
Fig

PR card will be mailed at your address which you provide during landing formalities. Your wife can receive your PR card once it is mailed at the address.

To be on a safer side, take new pics of yourself in Canada as per PR card required specs and keep it with your wife. This will be useful in case CIC refuse to accept your previous pics for PR card.

1. Renew it now.
2. Same as above.
3. Better to inform NDVO after renewing.
4. No.

Hi Friend,
NDVO has started issuing DMs and PPRs. I am sure in this week you will receive your PPR2. I know one more guy in our NDVO watsapp group who got DM along with me. Just hang in there, NDVO has a diwali bumper planned for all of us. Moreover the NDVO watsapp group is full with 50 members, but i will keep my eyes peeled if there is an opening and recommend you..

Hello Bhaumick!

Diwali has passed still no update from NDVO... how long more
