Great, friend can you share your landing exp.
Which city you are in?

Landing (calgary):
During flight before landing in Canada, Airlines will give you CBSA form in which u need to fill the POF you are carrying along with other details, also there is a column for No of days of stay in canada, which I didnt fill.

After landing, you need to go directly to CBSA first, where they will check the form given to you in the flight. I asked the officer that do I need to fill the number of days of stay in Canada, he said "NO". He checked the form and stamped it. After finishing this, I went to Immigration Office which is just behind CBSA.

At Immigration Office, I stood there in queue for 30 min and I was called by one of the immigration officer. He asked me the purpose of visit to Canada, I told him that I am here to settle. Then I gave him COPR and Passport with Immigration Visa, he marked on my Visa as this is only ONE TIME ENTRY VISA. He asked me to Sign on the COPR .

I asked him whether he need any photograph, he said "No".

I signed the COPR doc, He kept one copy with him and returned the other one to me. He said that my PR card will be dispatched within 8 weeks.

Then at the exit I was stopped by CBSA again, the officer asked the amount I am carrying, I told him that its around 15K CAD, in the form of draft 80% and Cash 20%.

He told me to move to another office where one lady asked me to show my POFs. She told me to show the backside of the Bank Draft, whether its signed or not. Thank God it was not signed by me at the backside. She said it would have been a problem, had it been signed from outside. She asked how much cash I am carrying, I shown her the foreign exchange bills. "Please carry the foreign exchange bills with you".

I came outside the airport and was welcomed with Canadain weather- Snow storm (light)

Bank:

I opened the account with RBC, they provide the account for new immigrants in which there is no FEE for first six months. They also give you the credit card, if you apply for the same.

And if you do the investment in tax saving for 100 CADs, you monthly fee after six months get waived off.

SIN No.

Went to service canada, where I got my SIN card in 30 minutes. Now they dont issue Plastic cards but only one print out.
I provided only COPR and passport to them.

Thats all.... to start with............

All the best to all those who are Landing in Canada in future.

Hello All,

Joined this thread a bit late(didn’t join the time I applied to fSW2013) and looks I paid for it 

There is so much of useful information on this thread and people on this forum are really really very helpful.

I had a few things to ask and wanted to see if someone can please help me:

1. Is there is a doc/spreadsheet created for 2014 FSW applications too(like the one which islandbabe, jigzyy and other created??
2. I just applied for 2014 FSW and wanted to know what would be the next steps(if my application gets approved)??

On personal History. I am working abroad, Shall I mention the time when I'm on vacation to my home country?

Need your swift response.

Thanks

Hello po, I'm new here :)

I also heard about the new FSW program for May 2014 that Canada will be accepting 1000 applicants per occupation and a total of 25,000 for all applications.

Meron po bang graduate ng MAPUA dito??

I'm planning to apply for ECA sa WES and would like to know any mapuans out there who have undergone ECA already.

My worry is that my school will not be able to release my TOR quickly (siguro after 1 month pa) and that delivering it through postal mail might take so long kasi sobrang bagal po ng postal mail di po ba?

And I guess I have to be able to apply my ECA sa WES really really really soon dahil 1000 lang kukunin sa occupation ko.

If I lodge my Visa Application by let's say June 15, 2014, what is my chance that I will still be one of the 1000 applicants? (Kasi tingin ko baka third week of May, may 1000 applicants na nakapag-lodge na ng visa application for my occupation - Computer Programmer)

Thanks po :)

I think it is better to take this opportunity offered by ur company . Because there is no guarantee to get passport request soon. For example in my case, this is more than two months that I can see medical results have been received in my ECAS.

Thanks for the advice arbeh.. ;) I will do like you said.

Hello Forumites,

I just received an email from LVO now affect medicals asking me to clarify the below issue in My Schedule A Form. Please does anybody have such a case? Please i need you advice as I want to respond immediately.

Dear Sir,

We have received documents in response to the below request. However, your Schedule A Background Declaration form contains a gap in your personal history (Question from 01/xx- 02/xx.

Please provide details of your personal history during this period via email as soon as possible.

Regards,

@ Aberdeenguy, many people got this request. Just do an updated schedule A form and ensure that there are no gaps. no trouble. Do from age 18 and not from the past 10 years if that is more recent.
