Experience of my visit to CHC New Delhi

I just wanted to share my experience of my visit to CHC Delhi this week. I was called for fingerprinting, which is going to delay the decision on my application by 3-4 months. CHC Delhi doesn't have the electronic fingerprinting yet.
Since I have some international travel coming up for my work, I requested CHC to give me my passport, which they did. They even confirmed that my RPRF payment, which I had made by credit card, was through. Overall, the staff were quite helpful in answering questions about the process/ application.
People who are waiting for their passports with DM can approcah the CHC with a letter explaining the situation and CHC will give you your passports for travel. You then return the passport back after your travel.
I thought this information will be useful for people with impending travel, whose passports are with the CHC in New Delhi.

Thanks for sharing the experience. I was also in the same situation last week. Needed passport for official tour.Wrote to CHC and they immediately responded back and have dispatched my passport which I will receive soon.
But now I think I can wait for some more time for official tour and thinking of sending my spouse and mine passport to CHC with request to provide DM and passport asap.
Don't know if this is possible and if my tour(whose dates keep on changing and till now no clarity ) is pre-poned then again If i request them to return passport ,will CHC action my request or this time they will not send passport.
My consultant says,they will either not return passport or they will return but this time asking me to complete tour ( which is almost a year long) and then return.

Experts please guide.I do not want to wait a year for DM neither do I want to skip this tour.
Can I send passport from foreign country to CHC? If yes will I be a legal person there with no passport?

Yes I paid it online using a CC. NDVO did not give the choice of payment online on its website. But somehow, it has worked for me. From NDVO, there was only one other person that also paid by CC.
