Can i deposit the Traveller's cheque in the bank? & if I buy travellers cheque worth 14K CAD, and I deposit it in the bank, shall my account be credited with 14K ??

Mav, TCs are as good as cash, but no one else can use them as these will have your signature. I have carried TCs worth <10K USD many times. You can get it encashed without having an bank account (for most of the banks, there are few exceptions though). You can use TCs for shopping and store will refund the excess amount in cash.

So I think having a combination of cash and TCs would be advisable.

My processing started 14 February , still waiting for MR.

Congrats to All for AOR,MR and DM...

Its been 46 days since NDVO has my passport :'(...How much to wait....It killing ???...I gave up one short term onsite opportunity cos of non availability of passport . I am sure there are atleast few who are in same boat ..Forum experts any guesses why it taking so much time to stamp..? :-\

iam also with you.....while we were waiting, we got a mail from NDVO to submit few more docs related to my spouse.

We sent the docs on tuesday n again the wait starts.
