I would suggest you to read a post by Sinestra on 12th March. Its pretty informative and looks like you can get a good deal out of it.
Better still is to approach ICICI, HSBC & SBI and find out if they have any options that are attractive.
After you get the info, can you please share it on the forum.

Can i deposit the Traveller's cheque in the bank? & if I buy travellers cheque worth 14K CAD, and I deposit it in the bank, shall my account be credited with 14K ??

Thanx harryy. Did Medicals on 12-Feb-2014. Passport, RPRF dd, and medical receipt were sent on 12-Feb-2014 itself (thru VFS, paid extra for return through Bluedart) and reached on 13-Feb-2014. RPRF dd was returned on 20-Feb-2014 cause drawee branch was wrong, sent a new dd on 23-Feb-2014 and reached NDVO on 24-Feb-2014. Got DM and RPRF dd encashed on 06-March-2014. Have been waiting for my Passports back since 6th. Any idea when will i get it back? Cause all the people who applied along with me have got back their Passports in 3-5 days.

With Gods' grace, today I got passports with Canadian Visa and COPR.

My DM was updated on 14.03.2014

NDVO has slowed down a lot from last couple of weeks and there are some guys who are waiting PP back for around 10-15 days now.

Its been 46 days since NDVO has my passport :'(...How much to wait....It killing ???...I gave up one short term onsite opportunity cos of non availability of passport . I am sure there are atleast few who are in same boat ..Forum experts any guesses why it taking so much time to stamp..? :-\

ryt2parag, many of us are in same boat.. I am waiting from 71 days sine passport submission....
althoough my guess is that in recent times NDVO put more effort on early applicants and for applicants with fewer applications for less prefered NOC even if there applications were much later submitted. Hope coming week we get much needed relief
