could anyone please outline the process for getting PCC from India ? ??? ??? ??? and how long it takes to get one.

could anyone please outline the process for getting PCC from India ? ??? ??? ??? and how long it takes to get one.

Just log on to the passport seva kendra website and apply for PCC online. Take a print of the Acknowledgement form and go to your local PSK, along with the required documents. They will take your application with a fees of 500 rs. and they will send it at your local police station. They will call you for a police verification and voila, its done. it may take 10-15 days...

Need your help & guidance again

The Medical form received for my spouse contains her "SURNAME" but in renewed passports the surname (wife) in not mentioned (though it was there in old passport). So, this would be of any concern? Should i ask them to look into this or let be the way it is? Need you inputs friends..

You might have to get it done under tatkal then...And i guss its better to get it corrected. Did you miss the surname in PP application???

Its easy to get PCC...

1.Just book a slot for PCC in http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink among any of the PSK nearer to you.

2. Taks a copy of MR/RPRF Request letter along with original passports with a set of photocopies on the day of appointment.

3. You will be granted PCC either on the same day or at a later stage.....

If not better to call CIC as per my knowledge.

thanks mknavin, still haven't received MR. and I am very tensed.......
just thought to applu for PCC before hand, coz of the strikes going on in AP at the moment.

No edvrfn.. Everything is correct in Passport as in her new (renewed) passport i have updated address (with one which is in my passport) & omitted her surname (as this has to be done after marriage).

There was no police involved for my PCC. I went to PSK in Hyderabad by booking an appointment(which is not mandatory). They made me wait for 2 hours and gave me my PCC on the spot. No police at all.

Nothing yet man.. i am guessing that my DD payment might cause some delay. also it may depend on the VO. But my hands are tied as i will have to wait atleast 8-10 weeks before mailing. so two weeks more and then i will call them.

Yes i check it 5 times daily not any update yet
felling tensed...now i can understand plight of early may and june applicants.
actually i was also june 05 applicant but bcoz of consultants mistake my file returned and i resubmitted in oct otherwise i too might b enjoying DM
