Hi Nirmal,

Good to see you back, however sorry for the delay with your file, your suggestion is a good one ...send CSE to your VO. There is nothing to lose by doing this.

If its 130 now, you have a fair chance to be in.. just keep everything ready..documents & forms filled..DD. so you may just have to add the WES letter once it is with you

When can you apply for Canadian Citizenship?

You must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) out of the four years (1,460 days) preceding your application.

Advantages of being a citizen over permanent resident in Canada

Citizens hold the right to hold a Canadian passport and no residency obligation
Citizens hold the right to vote
Citizens can hold public offices and can enter in government jobs
Citizens enjoy the right to get pension
Citizens also enjoy exemptions from the need to obtain visas to visit many countries around the world
Canadian citizens enjoy preferred access to the labour markets of the United States and Mexico as a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
It is easier for a Canadian citizen to obtain employment authorization in the U.S. or Mexico than it is for a permanent resident
PR card required renewal every 5 years
Permanent resident cannot hold office or remain outside of Canada for more than three years out of five

* Above information is taken from many websites those are old and new there may be changes in the above stated information if suppose the Canadian government update it recently

WES will take nearly 7 working days to complete the assessment.... If you have chosen express courier service it may take usually 6-7 days to get the delivery to India... if you haven't chosen express service you should add 1 or 2 days extra becoz they send your documents via airmail this you can't track...About the cap no one can tell...However, based of the current flow there is a good chance. But be ready with all the other documents and send it immediately after you get the WES report...

Good Information..
In my visa letter they say " Until you obtain Canadian citizenship, your permanent residence status may be revoked if you are not present in Canada for at least 730 days within 5 years" - Just another information..

Hello Seniors,

How we can know our Passport is safely reached at NDVO ? as still my RPRF DD not encashed after 58 days, courier sent by blue dart.

RPRF DD made from SBI in CAD.

--Mr. India
As you have mentioned that you have made RPRF DD from SBI in CAD. Does that mean that you have taken DD in CAD Dollars??

Nice info Rakesh

@ canadafswp, I think your chances are bright. Just a few suggestions you may consider while you wait on your ECA. Make sure you keep all other documents and forms ready so that the day ECA arrives you can send the package, including DD (if that your payment method). Include all PCCs with your file. It may help save time on background checks processing. If you have already kept everything ready, do a thorough check of the filled forms and supplementary documents.
