mate it has been answered so many times on this forum....passports will be delivered through reg india post, in the same way passport offices across the country sends new/renewed passports...its our responsibility to make sure that somebody is there to collect the passports....for e.g...if u got your dm today then in all probability your passports and copr will arrive withing 3-4 days....so atleast for this period we must be very vigilant....

Also, I'd recommend to send it through VFS to avoid such jitters, if possible (Means if you are close to VFS global center). With them, there is an option to collect PP from their global center, when it is stamped. I personally found that option very convenient and safe.
