But how it is possible? dont they follow timelines?

thy definitely follow the timelines....but when it reaches to the no. of days for fee charging it may vary depending upon the processing time of your bank....

You dont have to be present Sunlight......but its not advised that they send it to you via mail!!!! best that a close friend or family traveling take it to you in your home country.

Woh... does that mean I'll have to stay in Canada close to 72 days after Activating the Visa (at landing) to get this Card ??? How about I just leave after a week or so, and ask my acquaintances to Receive it for me? Will I've to be physically present to Receive the card once they prepare it? Or can I keep the collection process pending ?

What if after receive my relatives loses it for some reason in my absence ??

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

This is in response to your request for an update on the status of your application. We do our best to make sure everyone who has applied to immigrate to or visit Canada is provided with effective and efficient service. We receive an enormous amount of correspondence daily. Although we would like to respond to all of it, we recognize that it takes resources away from processing applications, which leads to longer processing times. As a result, we do not provide detailed replies to applicants requesting a status update on their application.

Applicants for permanent residence may check the basic status of their application on the Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) website: Client Application Status: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

Applicants can also check the Processing Times page on our website for information about how long it takes for applications in the same category to be finalized: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/processing_times-durees_traitement.aspx

Please note that changes in the volume of new applications received and in the resources available to process them can lead to shorter or longer processing times. Some applications, owing to their complexity, take longer to process than others. Processing could be delayed by any of the following factors:

- An interview is required
- The applicant has not complied with a request for documents or information
- We are awaiting the results of background checks or verifications
- A medical examination and/or treatment is required

Applications are processed in the order in which they were received. If any action is required on your part, we will contact you using the contact information you have provided on your application.

If there has been a change of your marital status, family configuration, or address, you may update your application, but we request that you send a signed request by mail, fax, or scanned e-mail attachment (see our contact information below).

Please provide the following information in all correspondence with our office:

- the subject of your message
- applicant’s full name (SURNAME, Given names)
- date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy)
- country of citizenship
- file number or UCI
- telephone number, including area code,

Information may only be disclosed to a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident specifically named by that person, or to an authorized representative. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/representative/index.asp for further details.
