House, help me. Since I left school, I have been working with a particular company and even as am typing this, I still work there.

Will my reference letter still bear past tense. I mean if de reference should indicate date am still working with them, hope that won't be any problem.

Thanks

I think the letter should go like this. This is one of the many correct ways of doing this thing.

This is to certify that Mr. XXXX (your name), Passport no. Xxxx (Your passport number) is a permanent full time employee of Xxxxx (company name) since xxxxx (joining date). His job duties, positions held, salary and working hours are tabulated below,

Today my bank has informed me the status of my DD it is not cleared yet. I am really worried. I lost my hope because all the other October applicants fee is charged by CIC….

Dear who1074,

If applicant has employment history with large multinationals, then arranging reference letter in required format may become a difficult task sometimes. For example, my previous company refused to provide reference letter replying that they have already provided experience letter. I didn't request reference letter from my current employer as I didn't want to disclose but I am 100% sure that they are not going to provide reference letter in the required format too. Mostly, companies refuse to write down job duties & responsibilities on such letters. In such cases, written explanation along with the alternative proofs will serve the purpose as per NOTE on the first page of Document Checklist. Such written explanation along with alternative proofs will make your application complete.

In my case, I have 3 employment histories including the current employment and I couldn't arrange reference letter for any of these employments. I provided written explanation along with the alternative proofs such as experience letters, offer letters, salary slips, contracts, bank statement of salaries account, work permit visa etc. On my work permit visas, it is clearly written that it is issued for Mechanical Engineer. It will be quite straight forward for Visa Officer to understand if work permit is issued for a Mechanical Engineer, then Engineer must be performing tasks for Mechanical Engineer for such large multinationals.

Just to conclude, it is always best to send all forms and documents in required format but CIC has given the alternative options in case some documents are unavailable.
Agreed. Just one more comment to the conclusion,
Self claimed job duties are not admissible even with affidavits. There has to be some "alternate evidence".

You made a very good case......I would classify your case as one of the few exceptions against the run of play.

This also shows one more thing that how important it is to stick to "Document Checklist"

I wasn't clear in my post that neither I could provide alternative proof of job duties nor self-declared job functions except one sentecnece about my major job duties is written in one of my experience letters but still got PER. Well written explanation along with available alternative documents can work fine.

A well prepared and well presented application can find its way to go through. I don't consider my case as an exceptional case rather well prepared and well presented case with luck in my favour.

Thanks for the detailed answer Abu Hassaan, I guess then I would not update this information if this does not harm my application. The idea was that I don't want any questions raised from Visa officer as to why the information was not updated when the wifey started her job.

Thanks

Dear mastfadi,

Technically, you don't need to update Visa Office about the new job of your wife.

If I would be at your place, I would analyze if my wife's job is matching to her qualification and that qualification has good/reasonable demand and reputation in Canada, then I would have updated my application. Let me give you the reason for such update; Visa Officers also assess based on their experience if applicant can get settle easily in Canada. If they find that the couple is a working couple and both of them have bright chances to get job in Canada, Visa Officer can make his/her positive decision quickly.

One important thing I would keep in mind before sending such update to Visa Office which is to analyze if my file is already opened or about to open at Visa Office, the I may decide not to update.

Just to conclude, the decision is totally yours if you want to update or not by keeping in mind that there is no harm or negative impact on your application if you don't update.
