Does anyone know?

It is possible if your present Visa office agree to change your vo. For that you have to make a request to your present vo.

Dear Who1074,

First of all, I request you to take this discussion for the sake of GOOD. I found few forum members became emotional during discussing an issue.

I am copying below exactly what is given on the CIC website from the instruction guide:

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
•the name of the original document,
•the date of the certification,
•his or her name,
•his or her official position or title, and
•his or her signature.

Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:
•a commissioner of oaths
a notary public
•a justice of the peace

Outside Canada:
•a judge
•a magistrate
a notary public
•an officer of a court of justice
•a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

I didn't find any reference in above text that only documents not in English or French (document that requires translation) requires Certified True Copy rather it is general sentence (refer to first sentence from CIC's instructions guide above) which should be applied to all documents either in English, French or other language.

Certification is required to authenticate that the photocopy is taken from original document and photocopy is genuine. Certification is not done to authenticate the document itself or what is written on the document. What I want to say that if document is in English or French and CIC can read it, it doesn't mean that photocopy becomes authentic or genuine.

Notarized documents are those documents that are certified by Notary Public. Notary Public is one of the authorized persons as per CIC who can Certify True Copies, therefore we should refer to Certified True Copies but not only Notarized Copies to avoid any confusion.

As per my understanding, sending non-certified true copies of supporting documents doesn't constitute that the applicant is not eligible to be processed but it could delay the processing of the application at local visa office or in worst case scenario, visa officer at CIO may consider non-certified true copies of supporting documents as incomplete submission.

Dear Abu

I am taking this discussion for good.

While going through the Austrslian immigration literature I found a clear sentence that "dont submit originals, only submit certified true copies of all documents" I am unable to find such sentence in CIC instruction guide or checklist.

There is a clear instruction to send certified true copies of documents not in English or French together with notarized translation. I can understand the difference between certified and notarized and why it is that way.

Ofcourse, sending certified true copy will do more good than any harm. But there are many forum members who had already submitted the application and they get worried once a senior like you writes posts like this. If it is not mentioned, it is not required. I know in some parts of the world it costs like $20/page so why spend extra even a penny when it is not specifically mentioned.

Lets see all supporting documents on case by case basis starting with education. Schedule 3 form question regarding education, it only says copies of degrees and not certified true copies. They dont need certified true copies of degrees either because they have original ECA and online access to see scanned copy of our highest qualification degrees as verified by our univetsities. On work experience they are gonna do some background checks randomly irrespective you sent true copies or not. On passports they will be able to see our originals at a later stage.
To sum up, I am convinced that it should be done only for documents not in English or French.

Dear Abu,
At first we were planning to send both M.Sc. as well as B.Sc. certificate for assessment, like that only filled and saved, but not submitted. But later as you suggested, we changed the application form to M.Sc. only and submitted to WES, to get a Reference No. and paid fees. We got a print got regarding these detailed, which included the verification of M.Sc. Certificate only. My documents reached WES by 18th of December and after two days they shown documents received review in progress. Then we paid fee for 3-day rush service yesterday. Till that the journey went fine. But today morning I was really shocked by seeing the change in my status as, again WES is 'waiting for the required documents'. I found that they are waiting for my B.Sc. Certificate and Marksheets, which I was not expecting for. I need only M.Sc. Kindly tell me how to make this possible as soon as possible. Its already too late to apply FSWP. Help me friends..
You have submitted M.Sc certificate..have your university submitted the transcript?? I think 'waiting for the required documents' mean they are waiting for the transcript, which must be sent by the University itself..
