I guess CPP-O and NDVO are the only active VO for now, others are still battling with 2010-12 applicants

Dear All,

I joined this forum couple of days ago and was following on & off. I have applied under NOC category 2132 and my application reached at CIO on August 7th, 2013. My calculated points are 75. I would like to be added to the spreadsheet; I would appreciate if someone guides me how to. Please note that I didn't use any consultant and prepared my complete package on my own.

In the mean time, I have couple of queries which few of fellow members may answer who have already received their PER. I have sent all required document as per the Document Checklist, nothing more. But I sent following two required documents not exactly in the same format which was asked by CIO.

1. Me & my wife don't have our Birth Certificates. My parents may have misplaced it or even didn't apply for it ever. I have never seen my Birth Certificate ever :D. We always used our National Identity Cards (DOB mentioned clearly on ID cards) whenever required for such purpose. Therefore, I sent ID cards as an alternative of Birth Certificate with a letter explaining why I am not able to submit Birth Certificates. This is also mentioned on Document Checklist if an applicant is unable to send any document he/she should attach explanation letter with an alternative document. Would CIO consider it or send my application back as incomplete?

2. For some reasons, I wasn't able to attach reference letter for experience in the same format as required by CIO. I sent experience letters, pay slips, bank statement showing salary transfer, copy of work permit for old jobs and confirmation letter, salary increment letter, copy of work permit, pay slips, bank statement showing salary transfer for my current job. All these document are 100% genuine and fool proof and clearly shows my experience. Would CIO accept experience in this format or they are going to send back my application as incomplete?

Anyone who had similar situation like mine and has already received PER can reply to give me a relief.

Good luck for everyone.

1) Affidavit and/or School certificate is accepted by CIC in lieu of Birth Certificate. National ID Card is not accepted in lieu of BC.

2) Have you included employment letter mentioning your job duties inline with NOC 2132.

Backgrounder — Expression of Interest (EOI): Preparing for Success in 2015

The Government believes Canada can and should compete actively to attract the best and brightest newcomers to resettle here. That’s why we are getting set to treat most immigration applications in a revolutionary new way. Having a job is the best path to economic integration. EOI will select immigrants based on the skills Canadian employers need and, in turn, should they pursue citizenship, they will be welcomed as equal members of the Canadian family.

As of January 2015, the EOI system will help switch from passive processing of applications in the order we get them to a prioritized system that gets in-demand people with the skills to succeed to Canada faster than ever before.

The 2014 Immigration Levels Plan makes way for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to transition to this new system in January 2015 by continuing to reduce backlogs across the board. This will enable Canada to begin using EOI to identify the best candidates from day one.

EOI works in two steps. Prospective immigrants would indicate their interest in coming to Canada by providing information electronically about their skills, work experience and other attributes. Individuals who meet certain eligibility criteria will have their “expressions of interest” placed in a pool and ranked against others already in the pool. CIC would only invite the best candidates, including those with in-demand skills or with job offers, to apply for a visa. Expressions of interest that are not chosen after a period of time may be removed from the pool. As a result, application backlogs would not accumulate and processing times will be kept to a minimum.

We will also assess applicants on a variety of other factors such as education, work experience and language ability – with a greater emphasis on the ever-changing needs of the Canadian labour market.

The Government is working with provincial and territorial partners to make EOI a success. We are also partnering with Canadian employers so they will be ready to find candidates in the EOI pool that meet their skills requirements when the domestic labour force cannot.

Further details about EOI will be communicated in due course and as they become available.

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if CIC is backlogged. I sent my 2nd application in September 10th and CIC said they have no record of it in their system. It was signed by a M.Chachevda, has anyone had their document signed by this person. Please help, I'm freaking out!!!!!! :(
