Wow good for you. That was before the Govt. Shutdown. Lucky you. I know couple of people in the forum that haven't heard back from FBI for a long time now.

How long did it take for you from the time you applied to the time you received your FBI clearance?

Yes. I received FBI clearance 2 weeks back.

You can expect it anyday or any minute now. Based on what I have see with some fellow forumites, there is no fixed amount of days between CC charged and getting PER email.

same thing with me....
my file reached with CIC on 2 July but still not heard any thing from CIC, i have sent a email to them, but revert is awaited in 15-25 days.

What you can do more is call CIC to get your UCI / Status. Then after getting UCI you can check your status on ECAS, If the status says IN PROCESS then it is most likely (not guaranteed) you will receive PER email.

Congrats on your MR request! Could you please share when you applied for the FBI clearance? Just wanted to know how long it took for you. It is good that you got it before the shutdown.

Thanks for your response Sinestra. My visa office is CPPO. I emailed them last week, tried calling to their number :+1 613 944 4000 which gets abruptly disconnected. I am totally not sure on how else to address the name change issue. :-(

Today is worst day for me... I was waiting for My HR decision abt my very awaited promotion which was told to me by manager that it will be definitely in my favor but a strange decision came today and it is a deniel from HR with no solid reason..... I got a US job offer and they offered me H1B as well. My petition was selected and approved by USCIS in July but when i applied today for my US visa in US embassy, they put my file in Administrative Processing for security check and as per them it has no time frame, can vary from 2 to 6 months...long long long wait ... and then our ovely London VO is not providing any update at all. I am a May 13 applicant with PER received on 11 July... Totally frustrated, depressed and not able to understand why luck is doing this to me...

No need to fret my friend. Just believe all will work around well for you. OK?

But Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney, stated, "As a result of the Action Plan for Faster Immigration and Economic Action Plan 2012, the backlog for the FSWP has been nearly eliminated, and new applications are being processed in approximately one year."
