I tried both - UCI and Application. Both of them works for me.

Some of the responses from CIC has the UCI number and some has the application number. Does that indicate anything ?

I have both, UCI and Application, in their email to me.

...the name on my passport is kulwant singh...and i have not updated my family name in my passport or in appl...it is dhanoa...in my appl i entered - as my surname...and the same i am typing in ecas..but still not getting the status...

Try to put the number without the hyphen.
And in my case ... the family name same as in the passport and the application. ... and this is the one which I'm typing in ECASE.

Type the family name as written in ur Passport???

I believe today or tomorrow (Mon/Tue) there is going to be a CIC CAP update as 2147 will be full, and I guess till 10th July applicants will get PER.
