Hi friends,

Wish to inform you all that I have finally reached the end of the tunnel for this year's Canada hunt and all I found was a wall in the end. But with lots of twists and turns all along the way:)

I got a mail from CIC that my app was returned on Aug 27th as cap was reached for 1112. My app reached CIC on 31st May. I mailed on Aug 23rd and got reply on Sept 19th. My UCI was 9090****

Sorry to those who applied after me and haven't got a mail - better not to wait.

The twist in my story was that my RM told me DD has been encashed. Now, either I lost my money or the RM did a mistake. I pray its the latter - I atleast have the consolation of getting back my money. Tortuous and torturous ride (application part) I must say. Only major regret - paid a bulk amount to the good for nothing consultant, who was just a good for nothing guide.

A big thanks to the community.

Hi Scylla,

Please correct me if I am wrong. The link you provided shows that it took very less time for processing.

For example: NDVO taking only 3 months for overall process. Can you please throw some light on it?

Processing times vary by visa offices and you can find the officially posted processing times here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/workers.asp

Note that it's currently taking longer due to the strike.

If you want to hear about recent experiences from those who have applied and been approved, I would recommend you read through the posts in the Foreign Workers section of this forum.

Please see the original post I answered. The person I answered was asking about work permit processing times - not PR. Hope this clarifies things.

They count the applications once they have been opened and once a preliminary review of the application has been completed. So no - they do not count the applications as soon as they arrive.

Danibravo,

We have a very remote chance under 0211. I am August applicant, but currently CIC is working on June 27 applications and count is already 190 for 0211. July applications are already in queue. Looks like cap will be filled with July applicants itself. Very bleak chance for August applicants in NOC 0211.

Sorry to hear Analyst...However your money CANNOT be lost, the DD could not be en-cashed if you did not make the cap. Confirm with the bank, if however it is a CIO mistake they will correct it....
