congratulations to all of you who receive their PERs or got their money taken.... i'm hoping that in the next few weeks its going to be my turn.. ;D
i'm july 10th applicant, but i'm thinking that there are fewer apps received by cic office from june onward, than during may, and that the office will be more productive (and hopefully end this ridiculous strike already! ). also, i'm thinking since the two "most wanted" NOCs are filled, they will be disregarding all apps received for those occupations, and everybody else should get their positive emails sooner.... what do you giys think about this?

Its 8:15 NS time. . . .
Lets have a rain form CIC, Come on CIC we need CC charged and PER Rain.

Hi my forum friends,
Anyone knows when was te last ECAS update?
I have received my PER on 27th of August but still not able to check the status of my application online?
Is the data entry on ECAS case sensetive? Can it be that I'm doing something wrong?

ECas is usually updates on Tuesdays. But it does not seem to be the case at the moment. However, they normally do it atleast once a week. Stay tight and check daily. You can also call on the CIC number and hear your updated status on the IVR.

did anyone receive any information from their local offices, after they received PER? i have a friend who submitted his application under the "old fsw" program, in december last year, and he also has a job offer(well at least he had it back then :p), but he has not received anything from vienna office since may 2013, after he was asked to submit some missing documents. i think that he got stuck in the void between the two programs, before and after may 4th, at least i'm hoping that's the scenario, and that the LO will be much more effective for those who applied after may 4th....

CIC are working very slow lately, after the CAP update.
With this tempo I could expect answer to my application in two months. Not fair. Are there so many applications in June?

bozance, stay positive! i'm thinking that now once we got rid of these fancy financial analysts and computer wizzs we will get our turn sooner! ;)

I think you may be right. Already I saw on the forum, somebody has reported that his application sent on 17th June has been charged thriugh credit card. So may be, if the striking officers are returning back, things can move faster. Also 2 NOC's are closed now. And may be there are lesser application in June to August period.

Hi

I have a normal bachelors not related to OH&S. But I have over 5 years of experience working as a Quality, Health & Safety and Environment Manager (QHSE Manager) in a big group in UAE. I also have several in-house training certificates conducted by SGS like Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor etc. Ofcourse they accept experience in your primary NOC which is under the list of eligible occupations. Unless the Employment requirements on the NOC website clearly indicate for an occupation that "a degree in xxxxx or a degree IS required", then it does not matter .

For example:

01. NOC 2131 (Civil Engineers) states employment requirements as:

"A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or in a related engineering discipline IS required." This means if CIC do no find a degree in civil engineering or related discipline for a person applying under 2131, then application will be rejected.

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2131

02. NOC 2263 (Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety) states employment requirements as:

"Employment requirements

01. A bachelor's degree or college diploma in a discipline such as food science, environmental studies, chemistry or health and safety is USUALLY required.
02. In some establishments, several years of related work experience and the completion of in-house training courses may substitute for formal education. This means work experience is counted instead of formal education in NOC 2263.

Thanks for reply.but in my case I have 1 and half year experience in Health and safety and 6 years as HR Manager.i mentioned H&S as my primary occupation.will it be any issue for me that I haven't any formal education in h and s and only 1.5 year experience in h and s .

I am June 13th applicant, just called them and a guy said they don't have access to the system so they can't check any status :-) True!

I posted a message here and someone said there was no strike at the Sydney office. I thought there was, and this may have contributed to the slow response to applications.. no?
