Roya and Harry:

CIC start cooperating while you greet them and inform them ur file is with them for 8 to 10 weeks!..and where are you from and want to know the client ID number...

Better to send email first if u have crossed 8-10 weeks and then try calling CIC..then u can say we have emailed u guyz also!

All the best..it works for me.

But now, while I call IVR , after putting the UCI number, it transfer me to CIC agent@! not message like your application has reached.....

Why is that guyz? any thought on it?

Anyone who has gor PER has used David Cohen as their attorney?
If yes, after how long where they able to tell that PER email has been received?

Yes, David Cohen is my attorney. I received an email from Cohen's office today(14th August) regarding my PER. However, the issuing date of PER by CIO is 12th August.

AOR ("acknowledgement of receipt") and PER ("positive eligibility review") are the same thing (for your purposes anyway). This forum refers to PERs primarily and that firm refer to AORs. There are two times you might receive an AOR:

1) from CIC when they have issued a Positive Eligibility Review ("PER" - ie right before your file is transferred to your local visa office). Everyone will receive one of these (provided of course you get a positive review - if not you will get an NER); and

2) when the local visa office receives your file (not all visa offices are issuing these 2nd AORs, however).

In any event - the firm will contact you if/when they receive your 1st AOR (ie your PER).

Hope this helps.

i called this no agent says this is montreal u should contact noa scotia we cannot help u without UCI no. i want to know the status of my application

I got the same reply i called twice. The agent was quite helpful, she mailed me the contact details for nova scotia office.
