Earlier it used to be that the funds should be old enough to make it certain that they are not borrowed. Now-a-days they just want balance certificate, i.e. the balance of the a/c no. xxxx in name of Mr. xxxxxx as on date xx/xx/xxxx is Rs. xxxx, not the statement.

However, you should be able to prove (not required by CIC, but they may ask) later on if they want to know that the funds are your own hard earned money and not borrowed from anybody.

Guys some good news for people who have submitted DD.
Foreign DD is valid for 6 months. Local cheque and DD valid for 3 months. ( RBI )
Just got it confirmed from Citi Bank, HDFC Bank and Standard Chartered bank.

I refered RBI site also, further i am posting weblink which re-confirms that DD is valid for six months. Please read point no. 9 on given web-links..

R u still able to gain 67 points ..with the evaluation report of be bachelor degree..I mean with current evaluation report..if so then send your application ASAP and this way it is likely to get PER ..but if you are short by points and you must have correct evaluation report then u need to get it ASAP..you need to wait for it n once get it then ONLY send your entire file...

Thank you Sir,

Without the evaluation of Education(25 points) I already attained 58 points, I need 9 more. Do you think my Masters will give me 9 points? Or will I achieve points only if i attach my Bachelors credential assessment along with masters credential assessment? To be frank I am not thinking beyond 67 points. As long as I achieve 9 points for my masters credential assessment which I have attached with my CIC application. I will be content.

Please advise how much points I may expect.

Dear Skhzskhz,

When you apply for credential assessment for Masters ; generally like "WES" they ask for Bachelors also . If they have assess your MS = MS in Canada or Bachelors = Bachelors in Canada, then you can send whatever you have.
The only problem seems that; if you are counting points for MS and have submitted Bachelors assessment ; probably you will get score based on Bachelors and not on Masters.

For CIC you need to submit your Matric, Inter, Bachelors & MS documents. (Assessment for Bachelors & MS only)

This is my view & I am not an authority.
Thank you sir.

My masters assessment was assessed as a masters degree in Canada. The assessment report clearly states that the prerequisite for the masters degree is a bachelors degree. The only problem is that the credential assessment for my bachelors is not attached.
Now I have received the revised assessment report from ICAS and it equates my Engineering as same as Engineering (4 years in Canada) and masters as a masters in Canada.

The question now is how much points out of (education 25 points) to expect for the credential assessment of my masters.

If you or any seniors can thrown some light then I will be a relieved man.

Poor DD applicants who are required to wait for at least 10 days to know the status of their apps.

Hello all,

I have applied for FSWP this year and have sent all the documents which has been received by CIO, NOVA Scotia on 29th July 2013. But unfortunately I came to know that I have forgotten to attache the Schedule A: Background Declaration (IMM 5669) form for my Spouse.

Can any one please suggest if there is a way if I can send this completed form to CIO so that they don't reject my application in this regard.

Your kind suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

What would I have done without this forum!! :) ;D

Ok, all set to send the application. One last piece of advice: Credit Card v/s DD. Which is the preferable route? I have an Amex I have ample limit on but its been issued in India. If I choose to pay by card, I just need to give them the number and details in the fee payment form and my card will not be charged right now, correct? Any views? Any risks with the card route? Many thanks..

The most likely scenario is that your paperwork would be returned, and so would the update that you send them.

Your options are to send a whole new bundle of paperwork (if you have extra originals of IELTS, ECA etc), alternatively you could try and fall on their mercy to add the form to your existing paperwork - it has been known for an updated form to be successfully added to an existing application but to be honest your chances of succeeding in doing that are not high.

If you send an extra form to update an application then if you already have a UCI code from a previous application then make sure your additional form references it, and make sure all the necessary info is supplied with your update - so your Date of Birth, Passport number, Full name, date and time the previous app was received, all that sort of thing - don't hold back info that might help them tie up the paperwork as you are asking them to help you.

More info here: http://fswp2013.wordpress.com

Hope that helps

[EDIT: Soundless makes a good point - you could do both - i.e. send a new complete package, and send an updated form seperately]

We are almost have the same situation, Mine is the CVV of credit card is wrong. My package should be reach in the same date as your's but I manage to hold my shipment back to me.

I suggest since it is already out and received by the CIO I still suggest to submit the forgotten form with an introduction letter explaining what is your mistake. Don't let the time run out send it as soon as possible before they review your papers.

Some people here in the forums did like this but of course it is still case to case basis depend who handle your case. Just keep praying, and keep the faith.

Do you know any other chinese forum , do they have similar spreadsheet ??
