No need for pessimisim... Of course NOC 2174 will reflect more on the spreadsheet because they are computer guys and they are supposed to have more access to computers and interent in general than other NOCs

This is what I am thinking always... I hope the cap updates will bring hope to applications passed last June.

And where are you on the spreadsheet?

There is something not right here. The figures cannot be as of May 4.

My rationale is based on quantitative reasoning.

1. The number of applications received by CIC should pick up speed as time goes by. For example, if 100 are received on May 4, then 110 should be received on May 5, 120 on May 6 and so on. This would happen because people would be srambling to complete their applications and then sending them in. A momentum would build up. And then, the number of applications will then experience a peak and then experience a slow decline. There should be a bell curve.

2. Now let's be a little less aggressive and assume the number of applications does NOT pick up momentum. If 57 applications are received on May 4 in the 1112 category, then 57 again are received on May 5. With a cap of 300, the cap should have been busted in 7 working days. Tops. That takes us to May 14.

3. However, payments are still being collected for applications received by CIC on May 16th.

The CIC is being conservative. They want to be able to say later that the cap was reached very early on. It gives them leeway to be able to do what they want.

It should be 40 per day i wonder why they were on such long sleep till mid of June!

Well, the update has certainly buoyed my spirits. For late applicants, it's never over until the fat lady sings! And at the end of the day, all we will lose if we don't make it, is our courier fees.

Number of Civil Engineers remains the same as of previous update. So, those of us (Civil Engineers) who got CC charged and PER between these two update times are not included in this latest update...So, I also guess that this update still reflects the complete applications of the 1st week (until May 10).

Ahmed79, I agree with you this seems to be 1st week data so if this is true, applications for hot nocs till first or second week of june has a chance.

So, I thought I should finally call CIC and check with them about my status.. ...

As expected the first agent told me that they cannot give any information and that I should ask through email without even asking me my details of the file and that was it.

I tried again...

This time there was a decent lady. She asked me all my details and date of birth etc...I had UCI no. from my previous attempt and so I gave everything to her.

She checked the system and replied that all she could see was that my application was received on May/15/2013 that is what she confirmed. She said their is no further update on my file.

My question :-[: If she is saying that she could confirm that my file has been received on that date , does it mean that my file has completed the completeness check and that there is no question of any return of the file.

Please answer or comment those who have earlier experience with calling CIC and their responses.

First stage is cleared. If they don't have further information, then it is good. Remember, no news is good news. If there was something wrong, she would have definitely told that your application has been returned on xx date.

It's awaiting MI & Eligibility review.
