Hello everyone, very useful discussion here!
I have one question to those FSW applicants who could send their applications to CIC early in May:
How could you manage to get your non-Canadian education qualifications assessed and receive your educational credential Assessment (ECA) reports that fast?
I had my IELTS result ready on 4th of May but could not send my application to CIC before the beginning of June waiting for my ECA report eventhough I have sent my documents to the assessment organaiztion (University of Toronto) early in May
Can anyone clarify to me what I missed?
Can it be that all of those who applied early in May have got their education qualifications from Canada?

A lot of people did a general assessment from likely to be selected ECA agencies and only requested for an Upgrade once FSW kicked off. Atleast that was what I did. No Magic really

Did you send official ECA report from agencies to CIC along with your application....or just allowing agencies to forward the copies directly to CIC???

Agency? I didnt use any Agency. I did it with help from forums like this one. Sent original FSW-ECA report with my application.

And some people were fortunate to have responsive UNI's that gave transcripts in a few days, and stalked the Wes website and emailed them requesting Express service.....Paying in excess of US$500....but I don't think they are complaining now.

waowww $500 for ECA? OMG! CIC must show compassion on us. God help me as I await cc charge this week.

Ok I used ICAS of Canada but like I said, I already had a General assessment report and only had to upgrade to FSW assessment. Back then it didnt take 6weeks to get an assessment done.

I read on CIC website that they will accept ECA from selected organisations only after April 18th.....?
Suppose people do a general assesment (say in january) and then upgrade the same to FSW (after 18th april)....will that be acceptable?

I came to know the news about the FSWP 2013 in last week of April and wasted no time in rushing for the ECA. Paid in excess of $500 for the "Same Day" service and the International Express delivery. Was fortunate the my university responded promptly to WES and I got my ECA within a couple of weeks of sending my ECA application. Those were the good times at ECA before the deluge of applications.

I applied for ECA through WES on april 23rd but mistakenly selected general assesment.....WES then converted my assesment for FSW till May 6th and took couple of weeks for assesment....finally my report was deliverd on May 28th....same day I forwarded my application to CIC which reached Sydney on 3rd June....

Just one mistake of selecting wrong assesment costed me abt 20 days of delay....hope this doesnt cost me my application

I have a bachelor's degree. I wanna know if I need to send my secondary education diploma within ECA report and my bachelor's degree to CIC?
PLZ ANSWER.... :-[

You can simply send your Bachelors degree transcript and certificate. That's what I did and got the Bachelor's Degree Equivalent report from WES. No need to send other docs.
